I think there's a strong possibility that the people who spent the 500 on Toys/Sculptures will receive the 6 tit, swamp banshee, hag thing, the wizard, or the death dealer/barbarian, that he previews here....

The only reason I think that is because I haven't heard anything about these actually being sold yet, and they're large enough to warrant a high price point.

my understanding is that no pictures will be distributed before the toy is actually shipped. I believe the plan is that the first pictures shown of the toy are from the collectors.

yea. i guess they got the money already... might as well make it a surprise all the way. I really hope it comes out awesome, but i'm not a fan of the way this is released... doesn't mean i won't buy one later if i like it.

Interesting. Back in my day we chose to participate in this hobby because it was fun for us to buy the toys that we thought looked cool.

I dunno, I mean there are certain toy makers that if I got an offer, site unseen, I'd drop the cash. Does that make me some sort of an idiot? I don't think so. BUT that's considering I've seen lots of past work (in the toy field) and have gained that trust.

This is a situation of a guy who has a fan base with work in 2D (ok, some resin figures too) in collaboration with a Japanese toy maker who also has a set fan base and number of works. But we've never seen anything they've done together and we've never seen Skinner in toy form (minus 1 resin figure.)

So I can see what makes this a little weird. But the man has his fan base and that's who this is for, himself and those fans. For the rest of us who are iffy on it, we can jump in later so no big deal. This release was clearly a "testing the waters" type thing as well as a big high five for Skinner and fans who have that blind faith. Not for "Toy collectors" or "Art collectors" or "kaiju/neokaiju collectors" but right out Skinner fans. It's an interesting situation for sure.

I'm interested in seeing what it comes out like!
