I know NOTHING about the mixed part nag. I just randomly saw that picture on the Mishka Tokyo Twitter and saw that there. I know that Shig drops off random nags to display at the store, but since I live in Brooklyn, and I am in Tokyo twice a year I dont really see what happens all of the time.

As far as the bootlegs, if you remember there was an unpainted white and GID in the dark that we sold at one point in the beginning

I was wondering what's going to happen w/the remaining bunch myself. If Mishka & Lamour got less than half the run, there should be at least 10 (total) floating around out there (as per usual). I wonder if these just went to family and friends. I'm sure the "zzzzzz......" signifies that Shigeru won't be holding a lottery of his own.



As much as I'd love for that to be the case, somehow I highly doubt the numbers will be increased. There's been other runs of unpainted models, one lottery I can recall being the unpainted dark-green ver., which was a run of 10 if I'm not mistaken. I think the low release numbers have less to do with the "painstaking" paint application process, and more with keeping up the hype. However, I don't know Shigeru's process, or the time he puts into each release, so my opinion is somewhat invalid. I hate to go into the debate of whether or not numbers should be increased, or hearing about how increasing the numbers would only lead to collectors jaded over the toy or loss of quality, but I personally just don't see the issue w/an unpainted or mixed parts run. You could double the numbers of each run, and that still wouldn't meet up to the number of the average two-headed Bemon (typically limited to 30). Does anyone see these as being any easier to obtain? Anyone jaded by them? Is there any more hype over Bemon than there is NagNagNag (at least at this point in time)? I don't think so...

I'll admit that there are pros and cons to Shigeru's methods, and I'm only bitching 'cause I'm itching to score my first Boryoku Genjin, and I'm sure I probably wouldn't be bitching if I had scored one by now... but that's the problem, those who have scored don't see a problem, 'cause it's not their problem anymore, and those who haven't, well they're upset, and understandably (not necessarily rightfully) so. I just think there's a way to bring up the supply w/o having to worry about the loss of demand.

If doubling the numbers of each run will truly bring down the quality of these toys, then let's keep the numbers where they are... but there's no pain if no paint is involved.

I still do not have a 2 headed bemon. I had the chance to buy the one I wanted ( half red/hlaf green) at Akihabra Manadarake last year for about 76,000 yen (over $900-current exchange rate sucks!) I do not even know how to get them when they are released, I am sure the retail value was a lot less than $900. I have no clue if I will ever get one. I was taunted the other day on the bounty hunter twitter about a new colorway that I am dying to get that I have no clue how to get.

personally, I don't agree with Nag always being compared to Bemon. I don't think Bemon entered the market via lottery and for a long time you could get them through stores like SUPER7.

At the same time though, a big unpainted release is basically free money, and there's always been far more demand than supply for this toy. It would have made much more sense for him to sell fifty yellow blanks to people than give away five and keep what was a 'good will' release nice and flippable.
