Same here, can't wait! The player animations look very similar to Demons Souls so I wonder if it plays in a similar way (considering that the developers have announced the higher difficulty level).

Really lost on where to go in DS right now. I'm seriously not very far - all I've done since defeating Phalanx is run around farming souls (and equipment that I don't want/need ), been roasted by a Dragon, and been roasted by a Spider. I can't seem to find any non-weapon drops worth a crap, and I just don't feel like running around killing Boletarian losers for days just to raise some souls. What area am I supposed to hit after Phalanx? The only other place I've been so far was the Tunnels, but I'm not even sure I'm supposed to be there (and the spider kills me pretty consistently).

Yep, and upgraded my stats a few times - I'm at Soul Level 20 now. Like I said, I've been a few bridges past the Phalanx boss in the first Archstone, and I've made it to the boss of Stonefang Tunnel. Finding guidance via Youtube has proved to be both difficult & frustrating - and I really don't want to use a stupid spoiler-filled step by step walkthrough. Just wanted some guidance as to which places/bosses I should hit next - and if there are some places I should absolutely avoid at this time, that would be nice too

Well, actually the Spider (Stone Fang Tunnel) or the Tower Night (Boletaria) are the Bosses you should be able to beat next! But there is no real order in which to beat the game (there will be something after the Tower Night, but that is it - you can actually defeat the real boss before most of the other bosses). I would avoid the Valley of Defilement and the Shrine of Storms (well, use this one for leveling maybe) for now though.

Also, there is a Blacksmith in stonefang (close to the archstone, but you have to get the elevator running first) that will upgrade your weapons with status effects . . .

Oh, and I really recommend to do some online research - some of the game mechanics (where to get spells, how to upgrade wheapons) are really hard to figure out without any help.

Level 20 already?!? That is pretty much for that early in the game.
But maybe you are just not tough enough for Demon's Souls

Man, I had no clue that Blacksmith Ed would upgrade my weapons how I want, unlike the dude in the Nexus - thanks! I came across Ed and just blew it off since I didn't have any of my shards/etc on me at the time. The frustration this week was from having nothing with good Fire Dmg reduction and having my only two options of bosses to face be a flame-spewing Spider and a fire-breathing Dragon. Given I am a melee character, both of these didn't seem worth trying at this time Glad to hear where to avoid, though, that's equally valuable to telling me where TO go (since I'm not a fan of linear play).

I will try to knock out the next boss I guess with some spare time this weekend. Planned to only play Saturn games & hit the arcade this weekend, but it looks like DS is taking over that time

arcade? I miss those things. Ill be in Austin for a few days in June..where would you suggest I go? I think I'll have like 5 hours to myself over there.

according to the only site I checked because I'm lazy, the arcade you mentioned to me before is the only one in the US with VO:OT cabinets. I dunno if I believe it seeing as I didn't really look very hard at all, even without knowing that I'm jealous you have a good arcade nearby

found out from the same site (that I can't find again at the moment but will keep looking) that an amusement park not terribly far from me has some VO:OM cabinets...might be finally motivated to go after years of friends trying to take me

Coming to visit your sister? You should hit me up, I can give you a list of options on how to kill time, or just straight take you by the arcade. Hell, the smaller arcade in town isn't even that far away from the big one - it's like a tiny hole in the wall arcade from Japan. Head to head linked machines (one player cabinets) for SF4 Arcade Edition, MvC3, SF III: Third Strike, and more.


We used to have 3 BIG arcades in town (more if you count shit like Sega City mall crap, and Dave & Busters ), but they all slowly faded away, and not even due to failing. One had the owner pass away, and his son immediately closed & sold the whole place out. Another was bought out by it's main competitor, so the two became one - but sadly their landlord sold out to the Church of Scientology, and Austin's biggest & best arcade for 25 years closed. 2 days after closing, they put all their cabinets up for sale, and I'd imagine that's where numerous games that are currently at Pinballz Arcade came from. Pinballz still has a long way to go in the sense that they have nearly twice the number of games that are currently on the floor. They've got a huge storage space behind doors, and tons of machines that are still getting parts & repairs. The building can host all the machines whenever they open the upstairs section

Yep, about this one. Get yourself 350 arrows and an hour of time . . .
If I recall correctly, the dragon roost is also empty in pure white world tendency . . . Oh, and you get acces to the execution ground at the beginning of the Boletarian Palace and there lurks . . . nevermind

Forget the bolts, just go for the arrows... and a lot of them!!
