LOVE this take on Garamon!
The scary-creepy skeletal aspect of his face is really accentuated, and the "plates-n'-hydraulics" design of the hands nicely plays up his biomechanical nature.
Superb re-imagining.

If anyone has a clue who did this illustration and how I can contact them (it's credited to "buildup" on the card- googling proves fruitless), please let me know! I have a dream project in mind....

Oh- might be a good place to mention this- the winner's prize went out shortly after the drawing, but to the others who particpated in my recent Garamon contest- I'm late getting it out to you, but keep your eyes on that mailbox- your little thank-you prize is almost on its way!

Was there any copyright info in the pic when you first found it? That might help you find the creator.

that is an awesome pic... it reminds me a lot of Mars Attacks in terms of the surreal nature of it.

Pigmon (from Ultraman) is friendly, Missy (in the dubbed words of the girl from the Science Patrol, "Yes,Ilikehimhe’scute!”); Garamon (from Ultra Q) is a giant, flailing, destructive, remote-controlled dancin' fool....same monster suit, different shows/different characters (in size and demeanor).

hehe oh yeah. i love pigmon. i actually cried when he died in Ultraman. !!!

I just saw a mini diorama figure set yesterday that depicts Red King about to step on Pigmon!

Reviving this thread, as I'm hoping that someone here (likely one of our Japan-based 'brainers) can help me find a site or contact info for the graphic design company buildup. I've done a lot of sleuthing and have so far come up empty-handed. I would greatly appreciate some help; I really want to get in touch with them regarding their Garamon design (which I will re-scan and re-post up top this evening).
