Post Re: Mo' Buta
I think this is my favourite thread on SB. Loads of great shots (and even better collections). I was wondering, I had tried searching through various pages and topics for some kind of Buta checklist. As this thread seems to be the most complete of them, and going through all 24 pages of it I saw nothing, has anyone made some form of compilation of the figures (maybe I am just blind to finding it). I saw some great shots out of the magazine showing some of the lineup, but maybe there are just too many with all of the variations to list, I dunno.

Lixx has out together a list on the Flickr group page, he's usually quite good with adding the recent releases too.

Found it! Thanks for pointing this out, it's very useful.
By the way, is there a way to distinguish the original blue Kanegon from the one that was re-released last year? (i.e. difference in year stamped on the foot, or ???).

Thanks guys!

Ever notice how the toys were sculpted? The style/technique you can see from this pic---its uncanny. Same sculptor?

^ thanks for doing all that hard work to compile a comprehensive list. seeing the entirety of buta releases at once makes me realize and appreciate the prodigious output from just one man.

a small request: could you indicate which ones have a sculpt variation, eg baltan? that would be great.

Sculpt variation? Not sure what you mean? I have it listed by sculpt/character then the variations of paint color/vinyl base.

Oh OK, I had no idea there was a sculpt variation for Baltan. Someone else would have to do those though since I have no idea what variations in sculpts are out there.

Nice list Chris. I'm tempted to be a total bastard and ask if you can include unpaints that have been posted over the years, but I won't for today

Kidding...you did remind me of one other figure i need to add to my list.

Two things...

I don't see the Nakira on your list. The one from WF?

Also, the figure you have listed as Demeking I think is the Goga, no? It would be amazing to see a Buta Demeking, but doubt it could happen.

My fingers are still crossed that Zazahn will be on the list at some point.

Hey Lorne thanks for the input. What does Nakira look like? I'll change Demeking to Goga. I often get confused on those snails, honest mistake. I have to admit it's all pulled from the internet and photos, so the list was just me sitting down one day spending hours on it. Zazahn is also my top hope for a new Butanohana monster!

Someone want to clue me in on all the Ultraman releases? Some are Nise, Fake, Ultra7, Alien Emerald, etc. I'm sure that part of list needs to be corrected.

Also if anyone wants to cut n' paste my list and tweek it feel free, listing missing ones, unpainted, sculpts etc...

Great list Lixx! This is a handy reference. I had no idea that the Baltans had a sculpt variance--good to know.
Jay, if Kaiju did have pets, a squid monster would be the perfect choice--fun photo :P
