Hahaha, I was so shocked to see this guy, and I can only identify him because I had the same one. It was a McDonald's toy from (Europe (Germany at least); I am not sure where else they had them. Their bodies came apart in three sections and [I think] were meant to be interchangeable.

really? Micky Ds? usually it says "made for McD" but this just says china. when i first saw it, i really thought it might be a Woodring Newt or something else of his. this is better than the newts, imo. stoned sea slug (sea cucumber?) just chilling out with his impossible biology.

I might not make it to SDCC this year and I really need to find somebody nice enough to try to score this for me. Gonna be tough 'cause the Mattel line is a total nightmare. Just got this Marvel Select Thor. Most of the Marvel Select stuff doesn't really do anything for me but I like the proportions and the modern costume on this one. The wall-mountable base is pretty cool too.

While on the subject of Marvel toys, I couldn't resist picking up this awesome Apocalypse figure: The darker grey shading around his muscles on his upper legs looks a bit messy on the actual toy, but it's not too obvious. But the paint on his face and the rest of the gloss blue armor are fantastic! He's one mean motherfucker. Hell, I don't even really collect 3-3/4" figures...but I couldn't resist this one. Perfect hand-candy at work!

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
micromanzone, those are awesome. i can see how they are tempting. here's a couple additions to my vintage american toy collection- Prime Evil from the original Ghostbusters cartoon (pre-movie and the reason the other show was called "The Real" Ghostbusters) Green Giant Vehicles, Tractor and truck with Farmer and mini Sprout

That cartoon came AFTER the movie (movie 84 that cartoon 86) BUT it was based on a live action TV series called "The Ghost Busters" from the 70's.

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
Hey Uberboy do you collect other food memorabilia or just the stuff with the toys? The only reason is I've got a bunch of miniature food advertisements ie. little boxes of wax paper and tiny little Campbell soup cans. I bought a bunch of these "Minimates" to do photoshoots with, the problem is they make really cool photos... But then this happens...

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
Im loving all the Marvel toy love in this thread!!! I've been picking up select Capt America Movie figures ( Winter Soldier, Bucky Cap, US Agent and Captain Britain) and Buying a few Transformers Dark of the Moon toys ( Leader class Sentinel Prime, Shockwave, Megatron)
Sanjeev- That Apocalypse figure is awesome! Ive yet to see one in the stores but Im hunting for him.
Slipstar- Minimates are awesome but they dont display well IMHO.( they are always falling over)
Dustin- I dont collect Marvel select anymore but I may pick up this thor and the new Capt America figures. I love that Jim Cheung version of thor. I may be in the Mattel line so hit me up if you really want that swamp thing.
Coma21- I havent been impressed with the GL movie figures, the only figures that are worth picking up are the GL DCUC line sculpted by the 4 horsemen.

straightoutta..LOKASH wrote: Sanjeev- That Apocalypse figure is awesome! Ive yet to see one in the stores but Im hunting for him. Like a schmuck, I preordered him from bbts. [And, no lie, I'ma snag me one of the purple Galactus figures evenutally...and the upcoming John Byrne-era colored Sentinel.] Anyway, I know earlier in this thread there was a lot bootleg He-Man stuff. Well, recently I picked up this awesome blow-molded "Jumbo" He-Man from Venezuela: He's 18", so not quite "Jumbo Machinder" sized...but c'mon. He's the most powerful man in the universe. Cut the brotha some slack... The polyethylene is surprisingly thick...so he definitely feels rugged and stable--unlike MANY South American blow-molded boots. The joints are satisfyingly tight--unlike MANY legit vintage MotU figures! He comes nekkid, which is fine (though he tends to make my heart race if I stare too long!)...but that sword is a fucking tragedy. I'm cooking up a replacement as we speak... Latino He-Man wants a proper Power Sword, damnit!

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
They show up every now and then...but like a dumbass, I totally slept on a Skeletor. Same size and everything...molded in blue...but his face was painted black or something that made him look just awful. Y'know...like a bootleg! Shoulda gotten him anyway... Oh well...back to eating sushi off He-Man's 18-pack.

slipstar01 wrote: But then this happens... I feel your pain... I own way to many minimates at this point at first it was a here or there thing, then they made the DC mini's and i bought the entire run. After that it went back to here and there, and eventually i quit all together. Of course i hadn't noticed the Ghostbusters Mini's and now I went and tracked all but four of those sets down. I keep a good amount of them in little bags in a tupperware. But i keep thinking of buying the Imaginext fire house to do some awesoem GB set up with.

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
Yeah I've built a Castle Von Doom for Baddies, and A thrown for Galactus and his Infinity Gauntlet palls (Legos are a Nerds, ahem I mean collectors, best friend)... Really what got me was Illeana (Collosuss's Sister) and Warlock... It's a slippery slope, but they're relatively cheap so hey... I just wish they would Make a set of New Gods (Kirby Era) so I could call it quits... I may have some customs whipped up sooner or later. I picked up a ton of the DC Direct Kirby New Gods for sale for around 2.50 a piece NIB at a going out of business sale, at a Marshalls. (Think T.J. Maxx)... I love me some JK.
