it doesnt really matter.
less than .03% of toy buyer post here or over at KR,VP. Rot etc. it might be even less.
the .03% is factored by dividing how many toys have sold say in the last year by the number of registered users with more than a few posts.

There's a perception with some here, myself included, that Frank was here 'cause he was down with us. Then came the big sell-off (that doesn't bother me at all) and the passing of the Ika releases, then no more Kozik, except to tell us of a pre-order list posted on KR. Then the return to Skullbrain.org along with Davidugly, to call our boy Cesar an asshole about a comment he made on the Ikas and Mothman. Although the comment was blunt I believe it was honest and that is Cesar.
One of Isaac's reasons for creating this board was to have a d.unny free zone, which is one of the things I dig (dug) about this spot - all killer, no filler. I know Kozik is posting d.unnys and wotnot to basically antagonize some peeps here to show us how stupid it is to argue about toys, he's right it is. It reminds me of stories the locals used to tell me about how Oahu used to be a paradise before the high rises and progress in general, nothing stays the same, paradise lost.
BTW I've met Kozik and I've met a lot of the board members in person and more not in person, my pic has been posted here a few times peeps know me , so I don't consider this a faceless comment, especially when comments can be made as a "guest" or another phantom account.
Perception is our reality.
Frank do wot you do and good luck in you future endeavors.
This shit makes me tired. Kurt

yep. after i sold my SB collection I made myself stay away as to not get back on the needle.
'down' im still 'down' I still love SB and J vinyl and still buy it.
also..my ability to hang around on forums comes and goes in relation to how busy I am. in fact, pretty soon I will by necessity be scarce around here and over at KR because of workload and personal stuff. then Ill be back.
like a bag of ground meat on a seesaw.

when did this place get so goddamn black and white?
I certainly wasn't meaning to disparage criticism - the only Kozik piece I own is an Ika Gilas because its the only one I've seen that I felt I wanted to add to my collection - my comment was relating to the extreme and intentional lack of tact I see people using so freely online. A bold frankness (hah!) that I suspect blossoms because they know they are so physically removed from their target. I'm guilty of this from time to time, myself. I suppose we all are, occasionally.
What I'd love to see is folks making these types of comments with the same tone in a face to face conversation with their target.
Y'spose they would continue to be as rude or do you think they'd soften it down a bit out of what is known as common courtesy?

How Deep is Your Hate?
(sung to How Deep Is Your Love by the Beegees)
I know your glowig eyes in the basement light
I feel you touch me with your plastic brain
And the moment that you wander far I might
I wanna feel you in my arms again
And you come to me in an Ems Box
Keep me warm in your hate and then softly gather dust
And its you I need to show online
Chorus:
How deep is your Hate
I really need to learn
cause were living in a world of fools
Flippin you 'round
When they all should let you be
You belong to only me
I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
Youre the GID in my deepest darkest hour
Youre my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And its You I need to show online

Stayin Online
( sung to: Stayin alive by the beegees.)
Well, you can tell by the way I rarely walk,
Im a Kaiju man: no time to talk.
Music loud and women none, Ive been kicked around
Since I was born.
And now its all right. its ok.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The rfso forum effect on a man.
Whether youre living with your brother or sponging off your mother,
Youre stayin online, stayin online.
Feel the city breakin and everybody shakin,
And were stayin online, stayin online.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin online, stayin online.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin online.
Well now, I bid low and I bid high,
And if I cant win either, I really try.
Got ebay 100%,iv'e paid my dues.
Im a collecting man and I just cant lose.
You know its all right. its ok.
Ill live to see another day.
Life goin nowhere. somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin nowhere. somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah. stayin online.

I have been thinking abou this lately. I collect house music (and I use "house" in the oldest sense of the word; meaning just about anything with a drum machine and no gutiar) and many artist use pseudonyms for different styles of music. They do it so people who like Drum and Bass don't buy their techno records. It is confusing but it seems to work well in fact many times their fans don't even know about the other styles of music. I wonder what would happen if Frank started dropping toys under other names. What would have happened with Kaiju for Grown ups if they never told anyone who made them?
please note those same artists would NEVER drop some progressive trance piece of shiite.

Wow, this thread really took off - and then went off on a tangent.
Anyway, been busy but wanted to address a few things:
cae wrote: the thing I find interesting/telling is that here we have an artist signed up under his own name getting lambasted by a buncha faceless folks under assumed handles. Now there's some balls. Not doing it for the "balls". Just speaking my mind. It's not something I do often, but occasionally something will lift my kilt. And I'd probably say the same to Kozik in person if we were to hang out for some reason. Not in a hostile way, just matter of factly. Also, I don't consider it to be faceless when I'm a "regular" on this board and that other one. I don't know if others "know" me but I view my on-line handles as an extension of myself - there's material for people to form an opinion of me with. Faceless would be if I created a new account to criticize people with. Lastly, does criticism have to have a face to be valid? One argument people like to use against criticism is basically saying "If you aren't doing it, you can't criticize it." I find this to be a completely BS argument - I can't cook, but I can tell you when I've had a good or bad meal; I can't write music but I can tell the difference between a well written and a poorly written song; etc, etc. LamourSupreme wrote: to be honest,... I don't understand the hate myself. The man is a major player in an industry where we're fans of. He wants to put out these toys, (might not be for us) more power to him. Can't we all just get along? Just because he's a major player doesn't mean he's excused from criticism. Hell, if you're a major player you're going to have to deal with MORE criticism. Major player or not, I find his designs to be among the worst and they look lazy (though thanks, Kozik, for addressing what else goes into the designs - I'll take your word for it regarding the 6 tech drawings per figure). kontact wrote: Meh, this is seen with countless "artists" in the toy scene. I think shit like Dummy designs that some people freak out over are REDICULOUS.
Absolutely - that's why I like so little of this scene. I could hate on all sorts of artists, and do - I just don't get around to typing posts about them all too often. Kozik, being the major player, is going to get more negative attention from me because he's who I see most often. If Sket was continually posting "Bring the hate" threads I'd probably pipe up in them from time to time.
Anyway, none of my opinions/posts are meant to offend. To those I responded to - I'm not offended by your difference of opinion on the matter, just wanted to let you know where I'm coming from.
