project MOGERA
Mogera has always been one of my favorite kaiju. After collecting most all of the sculpts available, my interest wained a litle until I decided to have a few Marmit clear blue ParaBabies customized. I am so happy with the results. Hope you like as well.

Koji Harmon and Mark Nagata
Paul Kaiju and Bwana Spoons
Check out the PK thread in the show your collection section for other shots of the PK job.
These guys were a real bear to photo. The camera did not know how to focus on the clear cinyl. The pics are ok but these guys look way better in person.

Koji's and Mark's look so beautiful together, like oceanic stained glass. They're all great! I've also loved Mogera ever since "The Mysterians" fascinated me as a little kid. It'd be cool to see more of your Mogera collection.

Wow, those are amazing! Great use of the clear vinyl material by everyone.
I completely understand the problem with photographing clear vinyl- my old point-and-shoot refused to focus properly whenever I would photo my clear pieces. It's a lot better with a camera that has a manual focus ring.

I love seeing a focus on a single toy or sculpt, esp when its and older movie series.
Cool stuff man

I second the love for Bwana's nerd glasses. Mogera could be the Screech of Kaiju High. I have the serious hots for Koji's though.
Seeing these makes me curious, what is the etiquette on requesting a custom in this context? Does a person more or less just approach the artist and ask if they are available, or does one need to be somehow... in the know or what have you?

Re: project MOGERA
Finally added two new customs to my Project Mogera. Shirahama and Prometheus Rising Studios. Dennis did a very subtle green and silver spray much like a vintage Marusan while Ben stuffed sparkly pipe cleaners inside and did a colorful paint job that highlights the clear vinyl. Ben also painted the missile truck leaving the windows clear and noting welds and a rusty/muddy undercarriage. Both of these are much more stunning in person. Many thanks to both you guys! Enjoy.

Re: project MOGERA
I'm with slipstar01 on the favorites. I was going to post a few days ago how blown away by the truck I was. 'Spose it's not top late ---
I am blown away by the truck!
Would it be considered a bootleg if I were to have my toy toy truck painted in the style of a custom? I'm happy with my standard painted Moguera the way he is but will never be able to look at the vehicle the same again. Seems nakederer.
What a great project, and so long in the making.

Re: project MOGERA
I recently added a new Mogera custom by Jon Malmstedt/Rampage Studios. He dubbed it, "Galactic Glitter Guts." It's stuffed w/ glitter tinsel and there's masks, paint rubbed into the cross-hatching on the back of the neck, and great black highlights. Super attention to detail. It sparkles way more than shows up in this pic. Thanks again, Jon, for your work on this wonderful toy and best of luck to you on the opening of your new store!
