How was the tooling done? Got pics of the original sculpt? I want to see what normally replaces the thumb. ;p

I'll post more info on the turtle (including a reworked model with articulated neck) on our website and flickr soon.

And by a nicer dude too. That guy came off as kind of a douche when I met him.

Scott, you should do more updates, that turtle looks sweet!

He was really nice when I met him.
He was trying to do a specific drawing for me and kept redoing it because he didn't like how it was coming out. That said, while I like his street art stuff, there's only so much you can do with the same sculpts.

Wow! You've(Bullshark) come a long way from the Lamb (I think it was a lamb or broccoli) vinyl you first pulled.

Hope you took some WIP pics, me being in R&D I'd love to see the creative and formulation process.

Just my view, collect and work is different to produce/create and to put it more clearly i am referring to kaiju being created outside of Japan.
PK, Greasebat, MVH all come to mind as american producers of Kaiju, if there are any more outside of skullbrain then they are definitely not targeting their market very well.

I'm working on a little something with Veracious myself, hopefully by Summer / Fall I will have something to show for it. Yes it's kaiju inspired but made in the US, I'm stoked either way! :D

Has there been any news about any of these American-produced Sofubi companies in a while? Any updates from Bullshark?

Veracious Vinyl and Placeebo have created the Molezilla, it's out and about, there was a release at SDCC and the pre-orders from Kickstarter should be going out soon.

Veracious was supposed to release a clear sofubi version of Koziks full sized Mao bust at SDCC this year but couldnt get it done. After multiple pulls the quality wasnt there and Kozik & DKE did not want to release it. I saw first hand and it was true soft vinyl but with imperfections as wells as finishing issues. Somethig Kozik said about the rinse? Im not that aware of the process so i dunno exactly

I for one hope they get it together one day

Veracious' website is down too, which is why I asked.

Why the insistence on clear vinyl? Just because they have something to prove?

Well they did succesfully make Placeebos toy and i guess now butchers

I think they do feel they have to make clear to prove something. It is a standard. And "soft" vinyl can be made in other places like china but its not to the standard of j vinyl so to set themselves apart, to show they can make quality sofubi they do need to sucessfully make clear.

Sorry. Newb..question but what is the difference between pulling clear vinyl versus a colored version? What validation does pulling clear have over pulling a solid color?

I know that in the past...that clear vinyl had a habit off yellowing but what is the current conundrum regarding it.
