They are Latin names. Not Japanese. Ok Ok Daniel. Sorry Google translator isn't the best at converting japanese text, these were also the spellings on GT so I just copied them. Fixed. Anyhow I thought I recognized the bird from my old 'Walking with Prehistoric Beasts' BBC DVD set. I'm pretty sure the segment was called 'Terror Birds'. Apparently they were carnivorous 8 foot tall, 300 pound killers. Here's a illustration: Screw the toy (joke) but this illo is amazing! Wheres it from and who's it by?

Yeah that's what I thought too, so I grabbed it for a avatar. Sort of like a Prehistoric Audubon lithograph right? I found it here: http://asterisk.apod.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23086 Google 'Gastornis' and it will show up. It made me watch the BBC Walking with Prehistoric Beasts DVD again.

Dang Lixx, that is some line-up, no matter how you spell it. How did you ever manage the set, let alone already? I check GT every day I can, and I can't believe I missed out on another one of these releases. Curse ye vinyl gods!!!

All those pics were just from the internet and I condensed them into one post to show all the different versions. I only own the 1st version of Uchugenjin, 3rd version version of Ceratosarus (still waiting to get this- postal strike), and just ordered the pink Diatryma. There was no set order for this last one just the pink bird.

Sharing that jealousy over here.
I managed to get lucky with the recent pink, but I would kill for one of those yellow birds.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
They are definitely out and have been since the end of July. I could have had mine then but was waiting for another version that had not arrived yet. Since this particular place only ships at the end of each month I had to wait till the end of August.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
Oh how I lust for that dark blue one. This figure is easily one of the most fun out there. I carry it around the house as much as other more "hyped" figures if not more.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
I really like if you look at your bird's head straight on how it has a slight tilt of the head. Not sure if that's intentional but it looks cool, kind of like it's sizing up prey down below.

Lixx, the artist who drew the Big Bird you have as an avatar is John Sibbick. Better late than never...

 Re: New Hukkokudo
I can't tell if it's the lighting in the stock photos or what -- But is the only difference between the 1st and 2nd release two headed dino in the darker vinyl color? If anyone could confirm, that would be awesome. I think this is my favorite Hukkokudo toy and I'd love to pick one of these guys up.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
Banshee I've only ever seen two Hukkokudo releases for the Dabura. The red based vinyl (1st) and the lavender based vinyl (2nd). I'm pretty sure that just a dark pic of the red. You should get this. I own the red and it's one of my faves.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
They are different. The 2nd one is more of a brown vinyl. I love this toy. I think because of it's small head I like it alongside minis. Like it's a giant giant monster if the mini is regular sized.

 Re: New Hukkokudo
Thanks, guys. Brown is good, but I also really like that bright red. I can't decide which I like better, but I have been hemming and hawing over that 2nd version for a while now. I can't wait to get him in.
I've told myself I will (try to) only have one version of each toy I like from now on. Completionism is what killed my love for collecting sofubi.
