Post Juxtapoz+Pushead...
I'm stoked, I bought an issue of Juxtapoz, which I only really grabbed to help support a local bookstore, that's been having trouble... I got to the last couple of pages, and there it was... Next Month:Juxtapoz will be curated by Pushead. I'm stoked, J-poz has really fallen off the map of relevance for me lately, and I'm excited to see what Pushead will do with a full mag for a month... Hopefully he'll take out half the ads... (Just kidding, I know he's not the editor...)

Doesn't he do every October issue?
It's been years since I've picked up an issue of Jux...the last was a Pushead "curated" issue.

Maybe it's not a yearly thing, but I seem to recall a few Pushead Jux issues...October just seems like it'd be a natural fit!

I have that magazine, and it's the september issue.. The next one that comes out will be in October, I think Magazines always run issues off from the actual month... Someone here in publishing should know... Ask BBB.

Post Re: Juxtapoz+Pushead...
I just picked up the new Pushead Juxtapoz today. Man I'm pretty disappointed. Not even one piece of Pushead art in the issue. The cover is great and it's got some good art throughout the issue but it is not nearly as good as the '09 Pushead issue. I was hoping for more of a Halloween theme too, but nope, not really... :|

I actually really enjoyed all the artists that I got introduced to by reading the last issue. All the artists talked about in both issues are people Pus really respects and admires so it's interesting to see what he likes.

You need to keep in mind that he curated this issue...it's not a Pushead tribute edition. It would have been weird for him to curate/edit it and then make it mostly about himself.

Agreed. I have last year's issue and loved it. Esp the essay pushead wrote for it.

Looking forward to seeing the new edition. Love the Horkey cover, wonder if they're will be a shot of the collab print with pushead inside? that thing was RAD.

Post Re: Juxtapoz+Pushead...
looking forward to get that issue too. nice cover.

anyone read neckface interview in current issue???
maybe expectations have been too high, interview
was a little disappointing to me: kind of superficial, focusing on a few aspects of him only.

Yes I understand that. But why even mention his name at all then? They print his name on the cover right at the top, like, "Hey buy this it's Pushead!" Then nothing... I dunno I guess I just get excited hearing his name, thats all... I guess I was hoping for a Halloweenish theme too. I do understand what you mean. Oh well whatever... Great cover though.

Post Re: Juxtapoz+Pushead...
It does have the word "CURATED" in the same font and size next to his name...lol. I think that implies the issue is more from his point of view and direction than it being about him. It's like if you're a fan of Edgar Allan Poe and you buy his book because it says "By Edgar Allan Poe"....you're not going to get a book about him but rather one written by him.

Ok ok I get it. Whatever. I just wasn't that impressed. Sorry.

Post Re: Juxtapoz+Pushead... Congrats Toybot...
I just bought this issue and realized what Kirkland was talking about... Congrats on the photos being included in the issue, as well as the skullhead figure...
Edit: As for the complaints, I don't know what's bothering people, this was the best issue of Juxtapoz I've read in a long, long, time...
