Okay, so I am a total geek
...but I think people should hop on over to their local library (or other purveyor of literature) and check out the latest issue of Science. The abstract is available online, but for a brief synopsis: http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/story/2011/08/11/science-plesiosaur-birth.htmlSpoiler alert - I am excited by pregnant dinosaurs Hmm, I could post random stuff here all day. For people checking SB during boring working hours, I would also recommend reading up on Alan Turing. Not only is he famous for the Turing Test, he also played a key role breaking the Lorenz cipher at Bletchley Park, preceeding construction of Colossus. There ya go, three easy subjects for research to pass the time.

I've loved reading about this sort of thing for as long as I can remember. The amount of information and theories over the last decade is just amazing. This is pretty cool too, thanks for bringing it up.

Here are a couple more informational tidbits to get you through to the end of the work week. I'll post the general info links, as for most of the scientific studies you might only be able to see the abstract online. So, in no particular order, A new take on a what we might consider 'chance' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-14199110Yet another marvel of nature, I wish I could train by body to do that http://io9.com/5800860/how-do-emperor-penguins-survive-underwater-long-after-their-oxygen-should-be-depletedCan you believe that (1) the Schmidt index exists, and (2) someone would devote themselves to developing it in the name of science? http://www.entsoc.org/PDF/Pubs/Periodicals/AE/AE-2003/summer/Buzzwords.pdfLastly, I am always fascinated by the MKULTRA projects, so here is a bit on a real-life 'Salt' http://www.forteantimes.com/features/profiles/497/candy_jones.html

Re: Okay, so I am a total geek
First read was cool. I have totally noticed that when playing R,S,P, I always chalked it up to trying to survive in the game. Second read was nice. That is crazy that they can shut down different organs when needed Third read was my favorite. Im really into the MKULTRA stuff. I have heard of Cand'y story but not that detailed. There are a bunch of great youtube videos on the stuff. There was a huge US MKULTRA programe in Canada from the 50's to 70's . The crazy thing is that it only came to light because there was a convention of psychologists and they were discussing their patients symptoms and they started to see all these similarities. MKULTRA is real. Bill Clinton actually made an apologies for the US's involvement. Great stuff dude! Keep it coming

Anyone else think this would make a totally sweet vinyl toy, especially a companion to a Buta Kyojin? http://news.sciencemag.org/sciencenow/2011/09/the-rise-of-the-woolly-rhino.html?ref=hpIn other crazy news, as if Stonehenge wasn't impressive enough as a neolithic feat, they now have evidence that the builders transported these massive monuments the distance from Wales (240km to those uninitiated in the local geography) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14733535
