Thanks guys - I'm hoping to do some more intricate paintwork for future runs - just have to get a good handle on the airbrush (and the stinky vcolor) first!

I think the paints look really nice, I wouldn't be able to tell you're new to the gun. I love the multicolored eyes on the red and the little reflections you put in.

Are you having your own booth at NYCC?

Glad you guys dig the clear! I know I was excited at how they came out.

Regarding NYCC - there will be a run of 10 painted clears (with screen printed header) at the Tenacious Toys booth (he's in a big space with Toy2R), and a micro run on yellow vinyl over at the Lullubell booth with Luke! Luke might also have a few blanks ;-). I won't be there... The 12 hour trip and ticket price is a no go...

This says nothing about your paintjobs, but If I were you I'd want to make up some sort of mask if I was painting that many of the same figure...

Matty- there are a handful of blanks left - they'll get painted if left after SF and NYCC.

Thanks for the feedback. Not at all an invalid point - though I did use some masking for the pupils on the SF paints, and the overspray around the eyes/brow is what I was aiming for. More masking will happen sometimes, but I also plan on putting some gouache on there at times - cutting down on mistakes made by a messed up mask.

Hold onto one of those reds for me if there's one left after SF and I'll buy it straight up, I'm just making up some prints for DCon so I'm strapped.

Yeah I was just saying that if it's a figure you know your going to be painting a lot, it would be a lot easier to get some sort of system of painting that would make it easier to paint that taping 100 figures and masking each one by hand...

I know a lot of the guys making their own figures have paid their dues in the airbrushing department, but Gargamel, MVH, etc... all use masks to paint their figures...

I will say that Rich has amazing work regardless of whether or not he's using a mask...

What kind of consistency of v-color are you using? Does it dry pretty hard, or are you clear coating them after painting?

Right on guys.

A) check on the masking thing, but it's going to be smalls and some brush work for now. I admire the work Rich does, and I appreciate his minimal use of masks, so I'm aiming for a similar approach

B)Matty - email coming

And a NOTE - SF leftovers willbe in my shop on Monday night (US TIME. - Tuesday AM here in the orient ;-). I'll update once they go live.

And the first custom I've done. Really happy with this guy :-). A little mixed parts action here - flesh colored legs w red body.

There will also be a micro-run on yellow vinyl at the Lulu booth - starting on that tomorrow!

Oh wow, love what you did with that clear vinyl and blue spray! Is there something inside the horn or is that just the sculpt of the figure?

Thanks for the compliments guys!

The black on the horns is a rub - the lines are part of the sculpt. I'm happy with how the horns turned out - they are the only clear part that got no blue paint :-). I've learned really quickly that acetone is WAY better for rubs than the v color thinner - the acetone doesn't seem to 'fog' the vinyl at all - which is really nice

Do you know if there will be a specific time at the Tenacious Toys booth for this release, or first come first serve?

Again - thanks guys! Today I painted the run for the Lulubell booth, so pics of that soon ;-)

I'm pretty sure they'll be first come first serve - but it is limited to one per person. Of course there are thetwp releases, so there's nothing stopping anyone from going to both booths...
