Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
It seems like the same 4 vinyl colors all mashed up (GID/Flesh/Pink/Blue) for each of the painted monster releases. I think I gotta wait out until a black set hits, totally too much too soon for me BUT not overall. I mean, do each of us really need 1 of each? And how many miss out anyway? It's nice to see lots of access but with a game of mystery drop.
Ugh, couldn't resist those UnSu black ones too. Ok, this time I'm really done....I think...maybe, ugh.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
I snagged a pair of the unsup. Such a sweet paint ap, very experimental, maybe my favorite Grody release yet.
I wonder if they'll be made to order?

nefasth wrote: These two are less impressive compared to previous ones, no ? i'd agree they're a little less than the original painted versions, but not by much. i think the colors look superb on the black, and i can already see there will be some great close-up shots for these guys. (i DO like the so much more than the minimal sprays from the giant robot release... that was giant robot, right? soooooo many releases.)

Its hard cause you don't know what sculpt you're going to get or how its going to look, so you're always tempted to pick up the next release. I just want a painted golem. But I never know if I will get one?

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Just wanted to say I've really been digging Luke's Grody Shogun project and everything he's been pumping out, even down to the customs put up for The Quickening (wish I had scored that Dokugan). Due to the surprise aspect of each release, I hadn't been able to score anything up until the recent EM pre-order, and just now the latest Ojisan and Karakuri. I'm really bummed I missed out on that SF EM, but congrats to those who scored! In regards to the numbers, I don't think the demand for GS will fall anytime soon, much less the appeal if Luke keeps up with his current business method. I really like his current sales approach. I appreciate a solid chance at scoring with the pre-orders Lulubell has to offer, while keeping the hunt alive for limited release numbers. Luke, Rich (MVH), and Nari (Elegab) all got it right. I love the hunt just as much as the next collector, but when toy producers make it virtually impossible to score a single release, it's kind of off-putting. On a final note, you can't help but appreciate the reasonable prices-$50.00 for a hand painted, 8" figure with 9 points of articulation? Yes please!

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Was trying to get the Ilanena Ojisan through my cell phone. Hit add to cart right when it showed up, went to check out and it was empty, then my phone's browser crashed...so annoyed. Shit, with all the monster releases going down I am glad I decided I am only going to collect the ojisan and karakuri figures, for now at least.

Did the unpainted black body Ensorcelled Man go up? I didn't see him go up at noon, just the painted blue one.

Thought I missed out. I'll still be holding out some hope they'll do another sneak attack release with the unpainteds if there is any left. Fingers crossed!

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
It's a fun problem to have. Especially when the box shows up and you still can't remember what it should be. Makes for a nice surprise when you're like, "Oh, yeaah. I remember buying this."
