 The Suckadelic Era
In the Village Voice The Suckadelic Era The designer-toy world's biggest jerkbag thinks you're an asshole for reading this story. http://www.villagevoice.com/2011-09-28/ ... ootlegger/

 Re: The Suckadelic Era
That article kicks ass! It was the one of the most interesting things I've read in the designer toy realm. Sucklord reminds me allot, to some degree, of Andy Warhol translated into the toy scene, particularly when he said... "I'm just not quite sophisticated enough to fit into the fine-art world, but I'm not dumb and derivative enough to totally blend in with the toy world." ... ...All together now: You're an asshole for buying this. "On the surface, I have a very hostile attitude towards people who buy this shit," the Sucklord admits, gluing on a lizard leg in his studio. "I don't understand why you'd be so stupid as to pay $200 for this set. And I make fun of people for doing that. But! I really fucking appreciate it. I don't understand because I would never do it. I would never buy any of this shit. But other people buy it obsessively. And I feel like I have an obligation to keep them entertained." Love that fire.... His mother is certainly a character when she recounts... "Morgan's secretly a good guy," she says on the couch, where she will later announce that Morgan used to frequently masturbate." Very funny

 Re: The Suckadelic Era
Great article. I definitely learned more about his holiness, the Sucklord, then I had know up to this point. I am certainly glad for one that he has moved on to more improved (and lasting) materials for his casts I am an asshole for supporting him, but not enough of one to shell out the big bucks for his toys in the 'art' range.

 Re: The Suckadelic Era
great read, as a resin artist i find it really hard not to love the sucklord. He's a clever man and a great artist. he knows art and he knows how it works. He also knows what a dream is and how to never give up on it. Keep on suckin sucklord

 Re: The Suckadelic Era
People forget that before almost every single person on this planet with internet access began trying to out-reference everyone else (i.e. be a hipster) there were real people who just WERE that way. He ain't trying too hard, believe me...this is the dude, and he fucking means it. I hate living in a post-post-post modern world where everything is meaningless to the lemmings who thinks they have it all figured out. Sometimes a pipe is just an effing pipe. Great article, and congrats to Morgan. He works a fuckload harder than most of the "Fine Artists" (and toy artists too, for that matter) I have met in my life...and I've met a few. scarwars wrote: Seems like he's taking "trying too hard" to a whole new level. It's one of the free papers, don't read them much but they can be found in the free sidewalk newspaper holders.

Uh, I resent that Lorne, I think I work just as hard if not harder. I truly love Morgan. He's one of the realest people you will ever meet and so is his mom. Congrats to him on the new show. I will be rooting for him like I did for the Yankees when I was a kid. Although I hate them now.
