Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Dude, that news is crushing. I really don't want to believe it. All the while, I am really excited to see more Nagballs, and hopefully the zombie carries the torch on. We'll see... Well here is the back header. Wanted to kind of show the full line-up of the NagNagNag toys. Also put in an photograph of a Japanese volcano, to add more mythos from the origins and world the violent cavemen live in. A little more of a 60s film vibe, but kind of completes the trio of art. Man now I really feel like I have made some packaging artwork for a "forgotten toy". And boy were these Genjins cheap to get back in the day! Look at that price! I shall not give my hopes up. Where there is a will, there is a way. Operation Nagsquatch.

ultrakaiju wrote: and while I can get that the whole idea is not to flood the market with Nags Why can't we flood the market with Nags? I would love to see the whole line re-released, so all the people dropping thousands on e-bay would be like "What in the hell was I thinking". I know this sounds cliche, but kid's are starving all over the U.S. and people are dropping thousands, on these guys... I'm getting so close to collecting Bandai from TRU, rather than supporting all these assholes that have nothing to do with the toy... Let me clarify also so nobody get's the wrong idea, I'm not talking about Lamour/Mishka/Coop, or anyone else working hand in hand with Shigeru. Those people are adding something valid to the toy. I'm talking about the people that somehow get lucky enough to beat the system (In the case of Batman Collector, beat the system multiple times) and then use that luck to make a few grand per toy. Someone said, "Well at least Shigeru doesn't sell on YJA" Hell I'd be happier if he did, that way, at least the person creating the toy would be profiting from his creation, rather than some unknown dickheads who don't even have the balls to use their real names. They hide among us like thieves waiting to see what we want, than buy up the market only to resell them at their most profitable... I love the Nag, but I'm getting more and more disheartened, everyday, by the way we all fuck each other, and the makers over. A lot of people hate on customizers, but I look at it this way, at least that person added something to the toy before they sold it. and generally speaking usually they could sell that item for a lot more if they would have just left it alone. To me that's love. I can't say the same for most people selling vinyl commodities nowadays. Shigeru should do one last order of classic Nag, Made to order... That way everyone could get their just deserts.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
slipstar01, no one is forcing you to buy. I'm not saying the batmancollector is a great guy, but he's not the whole problem. He couldn't sell at such high prices unless people keep bidding up that high. You just have to have patience and wait out the hype and one day you'll get your Nag with a bit of luck
There's no good way to sell a limited toy, as has been discussed to death. There will always be collectors who don't like the lottery or the straight to yja or the made to order
Also, you can't make the whole "there's kids starving" argument unless you are living on bare minimum yourself, which I doubt...

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I'm not trying to just single that one guy out, It's everywhere, Nobody is forcing me, and I'm not buying from people online, I refuse to support "sellers" and not artists. I have no problem paying a little extra for a toy, but when it comes to this cutthroat, crazy, 300 and up mark, I'm out. I personally think Made to order is the only way to destroy the price gouging, It's worked just fine for Elegab. Russblue11 wrote: Also, you can't make the whole "there's kids starving" argument unless you are living on bare minimum yourself, which I doubt... Just to make things perfectly clear, there was a time in the past 3 years when I was homeless for about 6 months, and my wife and I were living in an elevator shaft of a condominium for about 3 months, in the middle of winter. So I have a valid right to say, I know how it feels to be hungry, while the rest of the world is spending thick stacks of cash. I wasn't trying to make or argue a point with the "children starving" comment, it was more of social commentary about how a lot of people would rather spend a grand on a nagball/status symbol, than help out people less fortunate, and it really bums me out. That said I don't know why I have to be "poor" to have empathy or make an argument for the plight of the lower class.

There are some two headed bemons for sale on ebay right now for like $2000. Death to all vinyl.

There will still be the previous rar3z with the 13 edition sizes. But one last release so that everyone has a chance at owning one

I wonder if you would be able to choose which kind you would get...

Why make the fans happy now? The business model is working and people are dropping stupid money on them.

After issues in the aftermarket, Honda (Bemon) started selling his toys via Y!JA and he's been making out like a bandit every time. It doesn't make me feel any better that the money is going into his pocket as opposed to some stranger. I'd rather get a slim chance at scoring at a reasonable retail price through a lottery system than a solid chance to pay ridiculous aftermarket level prices. I'd say over the past 6 months there's been a flood of 2-headed monsters on Y!JA, Mandarake, and now, as Mishka pointed out, they're even popping up on eBay. It's unfortunate that the laws of supply and demand just don't seem to take effect here... prices are actually going up! It looks like a great toy, I'd love to get my hands on one, but to hell with paying 80,000Y (minimum) with the current conversion rate, with broker fees on top of that, we're talking at least $1,200.00 per figure. I think it's hard to value a toy to be worth $1,200.00 when 1-3 pop up every other day. In the beginning, these guys were actually hard to come by. Now, if you've got the cash, there's no problem in finding one... or two... or five. Nag's are still quite a rare commodity, popping up only once in a blue moon, and the run sizes are half, or less than half of every 2-headed release (20-30 on average). It is also debatable that Shigeru puts a lot more work into each figure, no disrespect to Honda. If I was going to pay such a ridiculous price tag for either of them, it'd probably be a Boryoku Genjin, but I'd rather not bite at all to be honest. If Shigeru really cared about his fan base, he'd be willing to do at the very least one "made to order" release. I've heard the excuse that he gets tired of painting one way, hence the small release numbers, but there's no excuse when unpainted models are an option. I, along with many others I'm sure, would settle for an unpainted model, or even better, a mixed parts over nothing any day. I'm sure Shigeru loves the hype associated with his creation, which is probably why he continues with his current method of production and sales and refuses to give in to these requests. It's stupid to assume he hasn't heard us by now. It sucks to know it'll probably never happen, but as long as the lottery system is still in effect, we still have that small chance at retail. Small as hell, but a chance none the less.
