Post Question for those who've been to Japan
OK, So I've pretty much gotten all my planning done without having to post/ask the board about anything for my trip to Japan. Thanks to Andy and Ricky I've had some things cleared up and thanks to a friend who had family there too.

BUT I have 1 more question. What's a good power outlet converter? Anyone? Good model, price, where from? I see a lot on Amazon but I'm still cloudy on which to get. If you have experience with them, I appreciate the advice. Just need one to charge my tablet, laptop etc.

THANKS!

The only caveat to that is that I believe they use 100v instead of the US's 120v. So keep that in mind if you pick up any electronics over there.

True, but not quite true. They only use two prongs of the same size, so if you're laptop or whatever has a three prong plug or a plug with one prong a little taller than the other then its a no go. What I did was go buy some three prong female to two prong male adapters and file the taller post down. Cheap fix.
The small voltage difference wont be an issue but in most parts of Japan they run at 50hz instead of 60hz. I've heard tthat it just makes thing run a little slower but I never noticed any issues.

I remembered that I have to ask the front desk for a converter/attachment to plug my laptop, they provided at no extra charge during my stay there, the hotel had just one american type outlet but in the bathroom

Everything is two prong. (or at least in my experience.)

(My apple is 3 prong and I had to buy an adapter.)
