Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Anyone else seeing a highly detailed impression of Dehara's work? The texture/finish looks very similar to that of his paper clay originals. I can imagine a more simplified form of the character modeled by Dehara himself. Just to clarify, I'm merely pointing out a likeness to another artist's work, not assuming that there was any sort of influence behind the idea. It looks very rubbery... like a foam latex model used for stop motion animation. I dig it, but I agree with those who said the clothes need to go... or if you're going to give him clothes, I say lose the designer bullshit and give him something more worn and tattered. A redneck zombie ver. would be sick.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
So Shigeru is now doing in action dolls ? Unless the body has some amazing secret feature covered, this is utterly disappointing. Though the tee is nice, the pants are oddly sewn. The clothes are a bit too clean for a zombie who doesn't know about hemstitches. I'll definitively not be sad not to have this in my collection... I'd rather have 3A, Medicom, Hot Toys or other real action dolls than this

Since Mishka is apparel store, it will a perfect combination his toys to have a some character of Mishka. I'm pretty happy with Shigeru working with people outside of Japan. Medicom or Hottoys? I'm done with them...................

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I like it, I like zombies, its super detailed, i like the shreds on the clothes. But it will just be a expensive battle for it anyway even amongst those who dislike it. So Ill just admire the pics like I do the BGs.

The pictures do not do this figure its justice. Its 100x better in person and if you dont like the clothes, they come off!

I am definitely prepared to eat my words anytime. I agree that pic isn't a lot to go on. The head-on shot looked superb. Someone, anyone, feel free to send me one of these guys and I'll take it all back

Just my personal opinion : not kaiju/kaijin = wrong, realistic sculpt = wrong, realistic paint = wrong Shigeru is free to do anything he likes, but whatever you say, this toy does not belong to the same world as the BG (put aside the collab with LS). And I don't think that if it had been released by anyone else it would get the same attention here. Now Shigeru can have an in-conditional fanbase as much as for other toy designers and this is fine with me. Still, I have not seen (and I think will ever see) the toy in person and it may have interesting features (the usual blurry pic does not help to get a good view on it...). For the time being I see absolutely no appeal in this.

I'm done with them......" phantomfauna wrote: I love the new sculpt. It reminds me a little of Kaiju Ken Yamashiro... Curious if you have either of those figures in your collection, if so, I want to ask you some questions about MJ... I said it before, this guy will probably look rad, and really he does, but I can get a zombie from Toys R Us for 19.95 that most likely has the same quality control, used 50 masks in their production, for the paint, and has pants that fit... . (Actual mask numbers may vary) I feel kind of bad hating on other peoples creations, because it is quality, but to me it's not worth the kind of bread that it's going to be sold for (especially since the yen is stomping on the dollars head). On top everything, knowing that this is what topples the Nag... It's a heart breaker... Edit: One thing I have to remember that just like everything in life, your not going to, nor should you, love everything that someone else makes. It's very rare that I'll love every song on a LP, or love every issue of Superman, or love every episode of the Simpsons. Why should a toymaker be any different, and really there are most likely a ton of people out there that hated Nags, but will love this.

(Yeah I get frustrated losing the lottery but really like his works) I always try to stop from this addictive & expensive hobby but failed . For the moment I'm done with medicom and hottoys. Have been collecting 12" Rah for years but disappointed by how they released the same thing over n over again with minor changes. Followed all the Kamen Rider release(which are my favorite hero since I was a kid), but with new releases then I stop collecting and followed SKULLBRAIN. And turn me to love monster and weird sculpt...... No offense for anyone, just my own experience....

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
release OG nag- everyone flips for it and drops big money-retire nag dude- everyone gets sad-new flavor zombie released- not many people like it- re release Classic Nag! - everyone goes apeshit ( again )
rinse and repeat.
i think the zombie is cool looking so far ( im not a fan of the clothing) but as everyone else is saying the pricepoint probably wont be worth it.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I think we need to see this without clothes. Imho the threads look a bit lame compared to other 12" figures already mentioned above so I won't insist but without seeing the body sculpt I can't really comment... having said that I'm not a big fan of the head, a real step back compared to BG and especially compared to Nagballs. I remember someone announcing this was supposed to be next level shit (Lamour perhaps?), what exactly makes it next level? The hidden package? Any price tag attached to this?

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Im not necessarily into figures with clothing, but im also not used to nude zombies, i just don't see them often, anyone else? And I would hope the threads are lame compared to the other 12" figures out there, if they were in line with them then I would think they are lame : P
