 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I was very happy with this season...minus the shot of Gus as Two-Face, which was a bit of a bummer and a tad silly.
I'd be content if the show never came back. They have been able to keep this story very interesting up to this point, and I'll be excited to see what they come up with next...but this seems like a natural end to me.
If we're to watch (and believe) Walter White completely transformed into an evil crimelord they will have to REALLY write their asses off, which they've been known to do.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I agree with it could have ended just like this and I would have been happy. I mean Hank, Walt, and Jesse did not die. I can deal with that ending. Part of me is intrigued as to what they possibly could come up with, and hopefully it will be nothing too outrageous. I think Saul's receptionist said it best when she said: "You guys are always in danger!" I kind of smirked to myself and said: "I was thinking the same thing."

For those of you who like hearing vince gilligan talk, he's done a lot of that in the past week including a four part season walkthrough over at the av club. it's like instant commentary.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Thanks resinate, it was cool to get into Villigan's head a bit. Lots of interesting things said, among them that the writers had decided months in advance that Walt would do away with Gus via a bomb plot, but how they'd drive the story lines to that point wasn't initially clear at all. Unless he's hiding something (which it didn't seem he was) it was also clear that they're not sure where the series is going to go next. I'll bet it's similar to the bomb thing ... they know who will live and die, etc. but aren't sure how to get there yet. I agree with him that there has never been a bad episode despite the fact that some are much stronger than average.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
yes, it was gross to look at, but I LOVED when Gus walked out of the room after the explosion. that couple seconds when he walked out, before you saw how wounded he was, I thought to myself...damn! this man must be made of teflon or something because nothing bad ever sticks to him - until this time. I know that my mouth fell open and I had to rewind the dvr and look at his face, in horror, again.

Trevor's day job is sculpting for Sideshow Collectibles and still manages to do amazing stuff in his spare time. Check out his other work here: http://trev-solo.deviantart.com/

That is some seriously fine work. He should send photos to the production company. I'm sure Gilligan and Cranston would love it.

Regarding Walt nothing to say, simply great.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I’m familiar with Trevor’s work from hanging out on garage kit forums; he is a jaw-dropping talent. The seated Momaw Nadon he did (which actually won him the Sideshow job) is an all-time fave of mine. Not to hijack this BB thread too much (and btw, after hearing for so long how great the show is and how much I would dig it, I have finally begun to watch… I should be caught up to you guys by, oh, the end of the coming winter ), but this points out the problem with Sideshow: they started out as model kit guys, and wanted to bring the level of quality that the best of the kit world aims for to mass-produced pieces. To that end, they hire top talents like Trevor… but the problem is, up to about a quarter of the fine detail that’s wowing us here will be lost due to factory paint ops. There won’t be much appreciable loss from good casting, but the heavy factory paint (despite Sideshow’s valiant efforts toward working with their Chinese producers to set a higher standard than usual) will bury so much. The best-looking finished Sideshow sculpts I’ve seen over the years are those that have been stripped and repainted by talented gk modelers. I wish that Sideshow could do small runs of unpainted kit versions of many of their products.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
That is definitely some nice work on the Heisenberg head. Looking through Trevor's work, you can definitely see how he has a knack for capturing a definitce expression for the characters. I can completely understand what Ungawa is saying; I haven't seen any of these in person, but the detail and texture is so fine that heavy-handed paint would definitely be a detriment to the skill that went into sculpting them.

I have a few and I must admit that both sculpt and paintwork are top notch, nothing finished buried under heavy paint on the Enter The Dragon Bruce Lee. Good to know though. Apologies for having taken away from the focus of the thread.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
We still have to wait until "Summer 2012" for the first half of the final season to begin, but in the meantime here's a new teaser production video: http://bit.ly/IJ4sL6Aaron Paul sez it's going to be a crazy wild ride. Wouldn't expect anything less. This story can't possibly have a placid happy ending.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
I felt seasons 1-4 wrapped up this show really nicely. It would have been the perfect send off.
Anyway...I'm excited for Season 5 but I hope it doesn't lose it's luster. Usually 'last' seasons are hit or miss.
