Post Re: Joe Kaws
His take on labels and consumerism and pop icons was successful (I think) when he was tagging adverts & morphing Mickey Mouse into the companion, but this latest 'labeling' (XX) of pop icons is stale & redundant &, worse of all, fucking lazy.

His work with Smurf, Pinocio, Pea Nuts, Disney, just don't match up, to his own things, and his collaps with artists! There is not even bones on the head on this one.

Maybe part of the licensing deal is that the actual body can't be altered

Funny, cause people don't buy this toy for the sake of Snoop, but for the sake of Kaws.

I find it funny the sheep who think they are above certain hype but then flock and create other hype.

I love KAWS, I don't like this piece, I won't buy it. It makes life simple.

I love Peanuts, I always have and always will. Personally I think Charles Schultz was a sort of genius...

That said, I'd rather shell out the money for some vintage Snoopy ala Charles Schultz,

than pay for another overpriced X-MAN figure...

No, not all of us.
I can't tell you how happy I have been with the SB market as of late.
I found some old emails where I almost purchased a glow warp brain for about 250 bucks and thought better of it. I now have two for less than half of that price.
Viva la hype on toys I don't want.

I think Kaws is beyond being a sad joke. This, Pinocchio, the Smurfs just to mention some are so predictable, pointless, effortless, boring... I don't even know where to start... How long can Kaws seriously continue with this type of output? I'd rather buy a Medicom Snoopy than this. Who's next, Doraemon?

no no no...this one!

I have to sort of disagree with you there and say that Charles Schultz was not only sort of a genius, he was a genius. His humor is timeless. All of his comic strips stand the test of time and are still relevant now.

I have no comment for the Joe Kaws figure though. Just wanted to share my feelings about Charles Schultz.

I just looked on the toybot blog and saw the other pictures. This figure looks WAY better without the glasses on and the t-shirt is pretty damn cool!!
