Re: New Butanohana
i assume this is a white vinyl sample of the green/blue wax sculpture we saw recently? as long as the eyes aren't carved with cat-eye pupils (the shadows are tricking me), i'm in. hopefully enough of these will be made to go around.
does anyone know the reasoning behind the significant difference in diameter we see sometimes in neck & waist joints? sometimes it comes across as deliberate, so maybe it's a throwback reference i don't get?

Re: New Butanohana
i thought it might be shrinkage, but these seasoned veterans would know to compensate for that, no? plus, the lost wax mold making process doesn't result in any shrinkage, does it? hmmmm!

I dont think so, pretty sure that stays true to the wax, but the baking of the OG sculpt causes shrinking. Maybe its hard to try and compensate while still getting things to line up?

Yea it would be cool to know, because the wax cast looks like the neck lines up better than on the test pull. I wonder if it has to do with actually putting the vinyl together or like you said, from making the final metal mold... hmm

Insane, that's all I can say, he's definitely trying to pass out heart attacks... Garamon, and Gojira in the same run!!! Not any old Gojira either, he has to throw in the king of cool...
If I find out that he decided to make replica cities, I'm jumping off a bridge.

Nope - you lose size going from Clay to Wax, and then again (a little bit) from Wax to metal mold. It happens to all figures - just sort of part of the whole process. It can be kind of nice for the sculptor though, since the shrinkage results in somewhat tighter details in the final figure. Anyway - LOVE the Goji sculpt! Can't wait to see some paint on there

^^^ Straight from the man himself they come out to ¥500 a piece. Not bad, but you must be both swift and living in Japan to encounter such a price.

Re: New Butanohana
So excited to see all-new sculpts! please just give us some other colours. I am gonna need a nice plastic garbage can/pail to revive the 80s trend. That reminds me, wrestling arena? how about a sweet micro playset? Oh man, gonna have to build a Lego city for these guys to terrorize when I get home.

Oh man, gonna have to build a Lego city for these guys to terrorize when I get home. I'd suggest a clear Giant Booska to fill with them. Also, the answer to your prayers: Micro Machines playsets, they should work well for most of the sizes Buta produces.
