With Rich's new job I'm sure it would be hard to do a made to order run with paint. I think it's great that this run will make it easy to get and the guts really make it shine. Although a split paint job would be awesome. I would love to see a run where Rich paints one half solid and Lamour paints his anatomy style over clear purple on the other half. Hey, I can dream can't I.

I've wanted an Ollie for some time, but given that I focus my collection mainly on you-know-who, I've held back, waiting for one that would really blow my mind wide open... without any real idea of what exactly would do that. Certainly, many of the already-released Ollies have amazed me... but this one has me FLOORED. I knew instantly that it was THE ONE I had been waiting for. I gotta say, I have no special love for clear toys; there are some I've totally gotten into (the clear green Yamanaya/Gargamel mini Garamon jumps to mind), and then others don't move me at all. Also, most of the time (and as much as I love cutaway diagrams of kaiju), I find "guts" inserts off-putting... a lot of times because I don't think the rendering of the guts complements the style of the toy well, plus they can really highlight aspects of how the toy is put together (joints, collars, etc) in an unflattering way. This Ollie is nothing short of perfection in execution... amazing, seamless, super-complementary, eerie amber vascular system... it's remarkable... you guys have done a great thing, here.

I guess I'll throw in my own coloration suggestion here, too. I think all of the hard/bony bits (horns, finger- and toenails, mace-hand spikes, possibly the protruding vertebrae) on this Ollie would look great with clean, concentrated sprays of flat black; his teeth could be done with a clean-edged application of a nice metallic (silver?); and finally his haireas (that's hair + areas, don'tcha know )- head and "shorts"- could be done in lightly applied clear colors.

Again, Rich, thanks for continuing to pump out such great eye candy for us, for continuing to push this toy into new places, conceptually, and for choosing so many great collaborators along the way. It's inspiring. I can't wait for this guy to land on my doorstep!
