If I'm not mistaken young ghost is a collaboration between Ferg, Grody & Scott Wilkowski. The figure itself was sculpted by Ferg & Scott & is going to be produced by Luke.

Don't like it? Fine, that's your right, but you have no right to tell people what to post or what to like. Thought policing sucks. if you could please stop twisting my words, i didnt tell anyone what to collect or not. majority of my collection is western vinyl still. skullbrain isnt the "open" messageboard for all toys equally. you are trying to make something out of sb which it isnt, never was. like it or not, but dummies, quees, etc. have never been welcomed here. brianflynn wrote: Secondly, as much as I dislike [expletive deleted]'s or half of that other stuff coming out of the brackish water of unoriginality, it doesn't mean that you don't, which is fine. You can like what you like, but keep your posts here on topic. If you want to talk about that stuff, go to KR, not here. Don't sell it here either. You can call it KR hate if you want, and that is fine, but this is not KR's board, so leave it be. It is sort of like knowing that two friends of yours don't get along, you can't expect them to go out on the town with you at the same time. KR remains a catch all term for all things western and poorly manufactured with little style, taste or originality. Western toys with good taste and high QC (Biskup, Baseman, etc.) will be allowed in without reproach.
-brian JoeMan wrote: Anyway, I like the ferg figures. And have heard through cherry vinyl and I imagine the ferg collab, Luke and Ricky are trying to bring some new interest from western collectors and western artists to Japanese vinyl. I know that idea will get mixed thoughts and reactions on this board as western artists start making sofubi. But from everything I hear while going strong in the US. Sofubi in Japan is not selling well and Ricky and Luke are looking for ways to keep this hobby alive and strong. So if you have to look at a Japan made [expletive deleted]. Just remember those efforts are for the hope that in a few years from now there will still be some new kick ass monsters being made. thanks for you insight view joe! ...interesting. so sorry to say, but my impression is that groody shogun is just cashing in on kaiju hype, same as kr did back in the day with western toys. seeing what happened to western vinyl when kr started fllooding it with cheap mass produced derivative toys, doubtful to me that the way of eastern vinyl would be any different.

There's no need for twisting. These are your words, as clear as the summer sky:
"could you please refrain from posting this krap on skullbrain. thanks."
These toys are made in Japan of Japanese vinyl and, all things being equal, have as much right to be discussed here as any sofubi toy. You may not like it, but that's your opinion, not a right to direct others' actions. Having said that, there are clouds, constraints, and other considerations, so that's all I'll say on the matter. Perhaps we'll meet some time and discuss it.

Does Luke put those wax slugs on some kind of spindle to make each line or is he doing each manually? Some kind of multi-prong tool like a fork? The final effect is pretty impressive!

I'm also waiting on an unpainted EM as well. Dig Luke's enthusiasm, but it does get a bit irritating when a bunch of new runs release while you're waiting. But Ojisan and Karakuri especially this colorway are my favorite Grody toys. I don't think if he can release a better set than these two. So I know they'll be worth the wait.

That insinuates that Luke has a plan or strategy . . . dude needs a Post-it to remember to put pants on in a morning! Trust me when I say the 'popularity' is as big-a-surprise to him as anyone. From what I gather the release rate has been as crazy as it has been just to fuck up the completist mentality and get back to buying toys because you dig 'em. I guess the fact that some guys haven't got the message is just an added bonus!

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
The lovers, the haters, the impatient, the appreciative, all take note! Dear ,
Just wanted to update you on some Grody pre-orders & thank you so much for the overwhelming support and excitement about all things Grody!
Squeaky and MANgenta are shipping out to me from Japan today. Oji Unsup sets will go out Friday. Unpainted Ensorcelled Man has been holding up some of your orders. If you had an order that included the unpainted EM, those items were being held to ship all together. The factory has black vinyl backordered right now, so as soon as they receive their black, these will be completed. No firm ETA on those yet from the factory, so we will be split shipping all other other items on these invoices next week once this latest batch of Grody goodies arrives!
We have been busy with 3 conventions and 2 events in the last month - yikes! Thank you all for your patience and enthusiasm through all. We are also in the process of setting up our new 2,500 square foot main store & gallery in Mesa, AZ, so we are trying our best to juggle all at the same speed you have come to expect from us! My sincerest apologies for slower than normal response times to emails. We'll be back up to speed by Thanksgiving!
We've also bumped up our runs in an attempt to help curb the crazy eBay prices with that comes longer wait times for releases as everything gets, cut, painted bagged and shipped by Luke hands alone! We were pretty surprised by the overwhelming response to Grody, and are always listening and trying to do whatever we can to creatively get more fun stuff out to everyone in the most affordable way possible, so collecting can be fun for all! We always appreciate creative reviews of our products and business. Direct messages help us address the issues that we ourselves may sometimes not know. We work very hard to take care of our customers and appreciate that they take that same effort to help us keep our brand and image strong.
With much gratitude, Amy & Luke

-brian fenton's and foster's and prickly pears are about as KR as KR can get but hey that's just my personal opinion.. I understand the vinyl quality is mucho better and all but the design's are just as stylish and original as any KR toy.. trust me, I love all my stylish miltons with all my wittle kaiju loving heart...

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
okay then... why don't you just go ahead and make a list of all the kr'ish toys you can think of, then draw a big red circle with a line though it over the top of the list and post it up where we can all see it to remind us. sound like a plan? that way, you're the sole authority on what is "unoriginal and poorly designed." i must have missed it when they made the name above your avatar yellow...
or, you could let people discuss an artists' work in his own fucking thread. i was under the impression that this was the proper thread to discuss "new stuff" by "grody shogun," so if luke decided to design a toaster for target, this should be where it's okay to talk about it. i think that is the point that you're missing here.
