I like the eyes on these. You struck a great balance of handpainting some details for a sharp look without forking out for an expensive mask.

This is my favorite on yet. like Prometheum5 said great job on the eyes!

Thanks guys! The eyes were a combo of a couple tape masks, some spray and a little hand painting I'm really glad I didn't sculpt pupils onto this guy - I can do tons of stuff with the eyes!

For those not attending NYCC, I plan on doing a little on-line release on the same weekend. I'm thinking sleepy eyes on red vinyl

Dude, I wsh I'd gotten the clear, my wife has these multicolored monkey head beads that would look awesome in that guy.

You really outdid yourself on those Jetlagged guys. The eyes are stunning, and so much is going on with that metallic purple/blue. Really sweet painting.

Sounds like the nycc pieces did well @ lulu and tenacious toys! thanks to anyone who grabbed one! Now I'm just waiting to see what was made for the thing at the cotton candy machine... I have no clue what they looked like!

Btw - just one more jet lagged guy and one more custom in the shop . Crazy thing is - my absolute favorite one that I've done so far is the one custom that hasn't been grabbed... Just goes to show how tastes differ!

I'll be getting maybe 3 of the mixed parts guys myself, and will make them available once I have them. Now it's time to get to work for a little Halloween drop and Design Festa!

Not sure what's still left, but as of yesterday morning Cotton Candy Machine still had at least 1 Ugly Unicorn left for me! I couldn't resist the mixed parts and pastel colors.

Not sure if anyone noticed at the con, but there was a little (very very little) surprise for those who picked up a Tenacious Toys' exclusive Ugly - eye color - Half had bright yellow and half had bright orange eyes Anyone here grab one? I'd love to see some pics!

Excellent work Jon. I am loving the mini mask, but the third guys is far and away my favourite. I am really digging the combination of the various blues and white with the deep red. The pupils are so sweet and the gold around the mouth is an excellent touch. Stunning; can't wait to see these guys doing some trick 'r treating

Thanks dude! For that brown/red and blue guy I took most of the inspiration from the Shinto shrines around town here. Nothing like nature (or nature's affect on man made things) to give you ideas for color combos

Yeah they look great. I especially like the last one. Kinda rasta colors. I also like what you do with all the eyes.

A little update here. I did two runs for this weekend's DesignFesta in Tokyo. Working on a couple new styles of painting with these guys - and really enjoying the results!

"Original Ugliness" Uglies (run of 5 - this is the Original colorway of the character - on mixed parts (yellow vinyl body, white vinyl legs). Wanted to do more, but only had 5 yellow left...:




"Army of Brightness" Uglies (run of 10 on black vinyl- with some nice bright screen printed header cards):




I'm sure I'll see some of you guys at DF - I'll be at a booth with Don (Datadub) and Refreshment Aya (booth I-300 - near the beer!). Anything left after the show will hit the mailing list first, and then the shop.

Update-wise, I had some of these 'X-ray Uglies' at Design Festa. They are all of to new homes, but I'll be doing another similar batch for SUPERFESTIVAL in January!
