 I heart Homeland
Since someone brought it up in the "Walking Dead" thread....
I love it.

 Re: I heart Homeland
claire danes is annoying but i'm really enjoying this show. Catching up on all the back episodes.
i wish they would have made it a bit more nebulous as to whether or not he was turned.

 Re: I heart Homeland
One of the best aspects of this series so far is how it uses suspicion and perception to tell it's story. I'm hesitant to say much about this show here yet, because there's much I wouldn't want to risk spoiling. You might ultimately think I'm wrong, TBS, but if I'm guessing right at where you are in the run there is much ambiguity yet to come. The gasses in the nebula have yet to settle.

 Re: I heart Homeland
That's what I love about the show. Besides the actors, which I feel are all great and on top of their game, I just feel this show keeps me at the end of my seat in almost every episode. Great writing and story telling as well. This show, more than any other I can think of (besides BB) really has you second guessing what you think about where the show is going and what are the true motives of the main players. Then they throw in twists that come out of nowhere that intestifies the drama even more. I'm hooked and can't wait to see how they wrap on the first season and where they take the story into future episodes.

 Re: I heart Homeland
yeah, i have a few episodes to catch up and I agree, the plot will twist and turn and thicken for sure. I'm looking forward to it.
The pace seems to be good. things seem to always go wrong for her and then she catches a break.
what i do know for sure is that Brody's wife is smoking.

 Re: I heart Homeland
This article calling the show " the antidote to the propaganda-laden '24'" is a good read. The pacing has been riveting.. had no idea they were going to lay so much on the table so early in the season. I had issues with Claire Danes being jittery at first, but those problems have subsided as the character has filled out. Damian Lewis is fantastic at playing Brody.. even after an episode like this last one I don't know exactly where he stands.

 Re: I heart Homeland
That's the spirit! There's a handful of decent, maybe even good shows on the boobybox presently, but Homeland is, hands down, the only GREAT thing hitting the airwaves right now. Can't wait til Sunday.
And yes, Morena Baccarin is yummy.
DON"T read it if yr not caught up on the show, but that was a great little article, resinate - thanks for sharing it

 Re: I heart Homeland
I watched 7 episodes on demand a couple of weeks ago. Anyone who has been apprehensive about checking it out, don't be. Great show psyched for the finale, but first the Dexter finale to the worst season ever.

 Re: I heart Homeland
you guys know dexter just got a two season extension? been off that ship for a couple years, but yuck. i hope this show knows better and gets out while it's ahead, even if some showtime exec wants to milk it like an idiot.
anyway, the "buzz" is that it's an extremely good finale tonight. excited. also, good lord was bipolar claire danes fantastic last week

 Re: I heart Homeland
I agree. It was such a great season finale. So much tension. My heart was racing. I love the way they have it set up for the next season. I hope they don't run the show into the ground like other shows though (Dexter, True Blood come to mind). Even if it was a two season show I could see the next season being just as powerful as the first, although, knowing how cable tv works, I'm sure this show will grow 3rd and 4th season legs. Let's all just hope it doesn't get stale after a while.
IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED, GO BACK AND WATCH THE ENTIRE SEASON! IT'S AMAZING!

 Re: I heart Homeland
I totally agree. The finale definitely lived up to the rest of the season and I'm so anxious to see what happens in season two, but if it gets a season 3 there's a huge chance it'll suck. I can't imagine them thinking up such a huge drama every season without getting boring.

 Re: I heart Homeland
way good season 2 so far. every time it seems like a twist would threaten the carefully held together dynamic of the show, they just go there any way. i remember feeling like this for most of last season - how can it go on?

 Re: I heart Homeland
So out of boredom I decided to give this show a shot, up to episode 4 now(season 1). So basically this is just a serialized version of Manchurian Candidate? Not knocking it, because I've enjoyed it so far, but I get that feeling.

 Re: I heart Homeland
Don't worry, nothing like that. I watched the first season for the hype, felt it was incredibly overrated, annoying and predictable; then started to watch the second season out of boredom and loved it. Not exactly brilliant, but incredibly entertaining and well-written TV. Liking the third season even better so far.

 Re: I heart Homeland
Up to episode 9 in season 2. Have to take a break because the series is starting to go in circles for me. Seems like the same plot devices keep happening over an over with that STUPID TEENAGE daughter, the wife, Mike, Brody & Carrie. What's with that teenage girl? Such a whiny little brat and they focus so much screen time on her. Man I wish they would kill her off. Other than that I enjoyed season one and loved that Gettysburg attack (although that prick Quinn was up from a near mortal gunshot would a half an episode later). Didn't see that coming. Please tell me they focus more on what's going on and not all this family drama the last 4 episodes of season 2!

I find Brody's wife an even more annoying character, and the Dana soryline actually get worse in season 3. But yeah, afaic the last episodes of the second season definitely make up for all that crap. Didn't see the ending coming and like the direction they're taking it this season.

 Re: I heart Homeland
Brody's wife (his name is Nick so I wish they'd stop calling him Brody) sure went from slumming it with his best friend to being carefully molded into this super neo-conservative housewife, complete with 50's styling hairdo and dress- but yeah she's really annoying also. Kind of self righteous. In fact, I wish she would just stick with Mike, take the kids, and disappear from the storyline altogether.
I watched 9 and I'm now very keen on this Quinn guy. What the hell do he and Estes have up their sleeves?!

 Re: I heart Homeland
Looks like me and bunny are just going to have a two way convo on Homeland lol.
Well finished season 2 and watched 1st episode of season 3. I really liked Saul for a bit but now he seems over bearing and constantly flip flopping on caring for Carrie and throwing her under the bus. Conversely I now like Quinn, because he did not kill Brody during that final moment of bliss he and Carrie shared at the cabin (not to mention giving that prick Estes a stern lecture on "If anything happens to Brody") and pulled back on a mission because there was a child in the car.
My roll your eyes moment happened when Dana started sexting that Zack kid from Dexter. Cue satellite from space falling on the Brody family house please....

 Re: I heart Homeland
I'm really digging the series as well, but figured I'd wait to join in until you're caught up - it would be just too tempting to talk about the central twist of the season before you get there, ha! A general question for you, Chris - and I swear I'm not trying to be argumentative here - are there some female characters in the modern TVscape that you've actually liked?
