No doodles this post, but I thought I'd share the armature stand I built last night. I trimmed down the 1/4" rod to fit the base better after I took this pic.



After it was ready to go, I put it to work. The secret Kaiju project is now occupying the stand. More info on that in the coming months

Finally made some progress on this last night after a long delay.

Troy that Glyos monster is looking awesome! What are you sculpting him with, super sculpy or aves?

Thanks man! For customs I use aves anymore. I don't like dealing with the heat issue for customs. Originals I'll use ss though since it gives me more time.


I decided to go ahead and finish this one up tonight. I wanted to get it off the to-do list finally!

I plan on cleaning it up with some sanding, then potentially casting it. I also plan on writing up a background and doing more customs of this nature. Since the name has come up more than once and it seems to fit well, this one is now known as "Bio-Buildman"

Here's the start of my custom I'm doing for GARAMANIACAL. I'll be keeping in the spirit of Garamon, but putting my own spin on it.

about the bio-buildmen, are they being cast in resin or pvc? if resin, will they hold up to the stress of changing parts?

They'll be resin. I'm working on a couple methods to ensure that the parts can be changed and articulated with no problems. I'll be doing some test casts soon.

Made more progress last night. Slowly moving forward. I also got some work done on the front, but I'll save that progress for another update.

I pretty much wrapped up the Garamon custom last night, just need to tweak a few more things and he'll be ready for paint. I decided to save the full reveal once I get some paints on him. Until then, here's a small teaser of what's to come.

He looks pretty wicked! I can't wait to see him in all his painted glory!
