Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
Im confident he will continue regular releases via lotto, but one more comment I felt was necessary regarding this..
How many people on here list their shit on ebay, yes starting at retail or whatever but knowing full well there are 500 people here posting for that toy in the Wanted section? (and yes I too can think of plenty of reasons why you wouldn't want to sell to some people here) but still, here you have the creator starting the auction at basically retail for a toy thats a edition of 3. I don't know what people call that but seems almost hypocritical to me to call him on it. Why do we deserve to list auctions that way any more then he does? Just a thought.

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
Well, overall it just FEELS weird I guess. There is a lot of questioning what we do as collectors and honestly how different is that and why do WE get different rules then the makers? Good points.
My opinion, I wish he'd just sell these 3 via lottery at a marked up price vs. a big open auction. Or, for some extra bucks, do 1-offs and mark those up.
I guess auctions from the makers feel like (feel being the key word, not being actuality) they're just saying "screw it, give me the money, I don't care" which takes some appeal out. BUT that's not totally true, nothing's ever that simple.
In the case of this figure, yeah I know he'll probably do regular runs the same way. Maybe toss these out via YJA now and then. I was half awake and full of piss and not enough coffee. No real hard feelings on it. I won't get into Bemon, wrong thread.

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
I agree it would be cooler to do a marked up lottery on them. And as for Bemon's selling methods, indeed it pains me, but im just thankful he's staying true to his toys and hasn't bastardized them. : P

Un-fucking-real!!! I can't believe someone shelled that much. Well I'm glad I scored a Mecha Ju while I still could at cost, because the future doesn't look good. Flame me all you want for bringing it up I don't give a shit. Whoever paid that much- you are a fucking moron.

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
I doubt any regular run Mecha's or even Gorilla's would go that high. It only did because it's 1/3 and this is the official outlet. I wouldn't sweat it. I'm just gonna get my blow dryer and make my own I'll only take $1000 for it, you know, boardie discount.

Send the auction link!! Since it's a crazy reverse Gorilla Ju on special painted clear vinyl I'll start at $4000!
Anyhow good pic Jeb...I like the mash up idea. Was it hard getting them off an on again? Did you use a blow dryer?

The cyborg is not as great as the individual toys imo, still would love one but i wouldn't go 1/4 of that price. Nice mashup Jeb

The vinyl is pretty heavy on hs toys,,,so it took a little more hair dryer action than usual...but nothing too severe... The head on the gorilla ju is slightly larger than the mecha so it was a harder fit into the Mecha body... Still psyched about the clear blue vinyl on the ju...nice surprise... Here's the reverse....

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
I tried pulling the head without blow dryer and it's a very hard vinyl (or I might just be a wuss) so I just quit. But good shot Jeb, and also interesting news on the clear vinyl, I would've never guess. And I see mine every day!

I don't pull off any parts non-warmed unless they're clear and already pretty squishy. Speaking of clear, whaaaaat?! Cool discovery Jeb. I wish there were pics of the vinyl pre-painting. I always thought to myself "something looks weird with that blue vinyl..." now I know, it's not blue vinyl but blue paint.

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju & Mecha Gorilla-ju
I don't think it's clear vinyl painted blue rather a very opaque clear blue vinyl...
Very similar to the metallic blue 6th release 2head bemon me thinks...check turtletooth's pics on the first page of the 2head thread in the collections forum for an idea...
