Not quite sure what to think of this new head... I guess it will take me some time to digest, not excited at first sight but it reminds me of some classic manga expressions, not quite sure from which mangaka or series...

I love how a different head can really change the personality of a toy. I'm actually torn on which I like better. They both have a great expression that's mixed with a blank robotic stare. I do like how the new head pushes that blank stare to an almost "stupid" expression with his beadier/close together eyes and jutted forward lower jaw. The little rivet details also match the body sculpt a little better. Overall, I'd love to own them both to have an epic battle.

I like both. I prefer the original for it's individual character but I appreciate and like this for it's similarity to the original character.

Wow! I like this better, much more quirkiness and old school feel to it. The old head is definitely great as well, but it always felt a little too clean and streamlined.

I Love this new head, makes is feel like an early version of the mecha kong that failed to defeat gorilla ju. The expression is hilariously dumb.

They do look a little close.. Hard to judge from these shots. I like the overall rugged look of the head though.

Original mecha Kong had close eyes. I think it's emulating that.

The original mecha head seems much more villainous. I can't quite place it, but there's almost a James Bondian villainous quality to the original.

Maybe it's the way they are looking in different directions. He has google eyes !

The new head definitely seems more 'retro' but with that, less menacing than the original head.

Would love to re-enact this fight with a HS Tyrannosaurus. GRRRRR!!
