Wednesday is good for me any time after 4pm. (I work until 3pm that day in the Des Plaines/Park Ridge area)

And sad news about the box... Hopefully they will be ok. I had a box delivered to me from Grumble Toy with the Yamomark Seahorse dude and the Chubby Tough, and half of the box was completely crushed... I was so nervous opening the package (I even took pictures before opening just in case), but Luckily the Umipudoru and the Ragdoll Chubby Tough were in the other half of the box all snug and safe They were packaged carefully enough for nothing to happen to them even though the postal people were really careless with the package. (I think it was around the time when Canada had that postal strike.)

I should be able to make it if we do it late....like 9pm or later....

perfect, minghin doesn't even begin serving dim sum until 9pm

not a fan of their weak chow fun or fried sticky rice dishes, but i'd give it a thumbs up for a group outing like this since they have big tables and serve late.

i'll open the bid at 9:30 pm.

on wednesday, put me down for 2... could probably entice the missus with some dim sum.

the box has been opened at andy's request. briefly examined a few toys around the affected area; they seem to be none the worse for wear. it is so on that "things have now become very much like donkey kong!"

Also, are we planning to all meet up tomorrow (Wednesday)? Wednesday would work perfectly for me since I am not working on Thursday and I can stay out late Wednesday night.

If Wednesday won't work out, I can come out Thursday or Friday night, but I can't stay out late since I'm working early in the morning the next days and have a long drive home and such. After Christmas, I'm available whenever except for New Years (obviously) and January 7th (Saturday).

So, all in all, I'm really hoping everyone can come out tomorrow (Wednesday) night! If tomorrow is a go, let know (if you can) by tomorrow 2:30 - 3pm, that way I won't go home after work, I'll just stay in town and head out to Chicago afterwards.

dim summit 2012?

We will definitely be down for 2012. I can maybe convince the whole clan to come if we do it on a weekend. The girls have crazy schedules and will not come out on a school night. Trust me it will be worth it, I'll pull down my pants, or something like that.

I'm up for dim summit 2012, I won't mind the wait I'll most likely be up for any day/time, except for January 5th and January 7th... Can't wait to see what the chase looks like! Woohoo! This will be a lot of fun.

If Lucky Bags are released/out by then would anyone wanna go in on one of those? I never keep all of the figures, so I thought I'd set it up early this year. We can break that up too at this shindig. I'd be interested in going anyway though.

As for availability, that weekend, the 7th/8th, is best for me. I'm off work. I work the week before, evenings.

There's never teasers. The best you could hope for is that they make it to the US after theyr'e released in Japan and you can try and search around YJA or blogs for what was inside.

Usually they're about $300ish, 1 full sized, a mid sized (like Tokoji) and a handful of minis, usually 1 or 2 random weirdo' in the bunch too (Katope Angel Bird, Smoking Corps, things not generally as popular as the kaiju stuff.)

I usually buy 1 and break it up but I'm always stuck with 2 or so toys I totally don't want or have space for, even if I appreciate them. I'd rather have some sorta plan this year. I'd be down to cover half, say $150, if I was to take the full sized and 1 mini but I know that's usually what most people want. Also not sure what's up with them at all this year. Rumors are they'll exist, not sure if they'll make it over here or not and the price. Just a thought though.

well, i do remember one year gargamel did a sort of "line up" shot for the lucky bags... just gray silhouettes of the pieces.

Oh yeah, sometimes they pull that. Not always though. I prefer the total surprise myself. I wish they did different sized bags like they used to.

Now that wouldn't be fair to the rest of us... If we have to see them, the rest of you should see them as well! Mwahahahaha lol

Andy confirmed w/Garg there will be LB's this year. No word on exactly when, and who's getting them I guess, etc. Anyway, 8th is best for me no matter what it seems but, again, I'm not the center of the universe (or so I'm told) so if that doesn't work do whatever you chumps.
