It was awesome when my girlfriend fell in love with the original Rose Vampire sculpt. I knew I had something I could get her for a gift that she would always love. It also helped me out when I would buy my Super 7 toys, by slipping one in an order she would get excited and not notice how much I had spent. However when they retired the original mold and went with the DX sculpt her love faded. No longer was the Rose Vampire a cute little monster, it was now lanky and awkward. Maybe this was what vinyl toy puberty looked like. Either way, she lost a toy to collect and I lost an ally on my toy buying excursions.
This past Christmas I knew It was gonna be hard to find a Rose she didn't have. (I think we're down to Green Hell and the White SDCC). I was gonna have to get creative. With a little help from Illustrator, a Rose Vampire sticker and some fine folks in North Carolina Christmas would be saved.
Gone, but not forgotten.
