Again and again, I will thank Greg and L'amour for giving me the opportunity to design a header for one of my favorite toys made, by one of my favorite, inspiring artist.
I'm still stunned about all of this happening. Honored and humble, and as corny as it sounds, a dream come true.
After seeing that it was going to be a Beetlejuice tribute, and was excited. Couldn't be a better theme, and the paintjob by L'amour suits it well.
Now the art is finished and off to the printer, and with the flyers in the mail, I can't wait to see the whole package together!

I'll tease with the front first.
The concept was brought to me by Greg to take the Beetlejuice logo and apply its type treatment to "Bootleg Kaiju". Brilliant idea, and I added some Cyco Simon flair to the skeletons around the design.
With my love for VHS bootlegs, and I had Beetlejuice recorded on VHS (along with many McDonald commercial breaks), I decided to pay tribute to that with the effects/filter over the design, along with the label.

Shiiiiiit, ya killed it! Looks great. Love the homage.

Greg mentioned he wanted to do the Head Hunter and Beetlejuice scene in the waiting room, but replace him with the Bootleg. And I was, upon being asked to do the header, already thinking about ways to fit the Head Hunter in. So it worked out perfect.
I drew the waiting room scene, gave Cyco Simon a shrunken head, ran it through the VHS, and gave it a magenta-suede suit border.
Oh, and I also sneaked in L'amour/Greg's original Bootleg header art in the back picture frame, blurred. Fit the scene.
