She's saying to herself: "I don't understand how I can finally come to Japan yet I have to spend all day staring at a bunch of plastic toys and the nerds who want them! This never happened to that chick in Lost in Translation!"

Yes. Wife of a skullbrainer hits the mark. Just a good thing she doesn't look at SB - I'd have some questions to answer...

i can relate to this and add:
"That expression is also known as the "Wife of Skullbrainer at a toy fest" look.
But I am already grateful that my wife gave up complaining about the amount of money spent and home space lost to displaying and storing toys.

You need to write an instructional manual. I've been collecting these types of toys for 12 years and the look has only intensified with my wife.

My wife collects giant robots....and plays 1st person shooters like a pro so I don't get that look I get "Holy shit, buy me this Vintage boxed Shogun Dangaurd Ace, it's only $900! Please, I'll take care of the kids for a WEEK."

I don't know about you guys but my wife loves toys, that's why she is always at shoes with me. It's funny when I see her open a new toy and sniff it because she loves the smell. Ahhhhhh nerd love.

Anyone that went to Superfestival 58 pick up one of these Blue Yamanaya Yamaton (pic courtesy of Kaiju Korner)?:

Image

I'd like to see unwrapped pics, and I'm wondering the availability of them? Missed the GT pre-order, none showed up on on YJA, and the Yamanaya site only has a phone number (no email contact to see if they would sell me one). Can't be that popular. I have the other version coming but wanted both.

I'm kind of sick of this hobby anymore to be honest. Unless it's a super hyped toy, or a common piece you never see it on YJA. No stores carry jack shit except their own lines, and you have like a 2 day window on pre orders anymore if you're lucky enough to even see it anywhere. I noticed anything else I wanted (US Toys GID Garamon, Kaijuken Red Baron) also never made it for sale anywhere or came up on YJA.

PS: Bloodrinker save any snarky comments you intend to make.

Yamaton is amazing. Does it move any of the turrets? Don't know about this one but sometimes GT leaves the pre-orders till the end of the month. But it's true though, a lot of the times un-hyped toys don't come up very often. But also means that they won't be that expensive when found. Good luck with this one Chris.

I complained about missing out on something and got the whole speech about how this is part of collecting and your continued search blah blah, I certainly sympathize and feel your pain. After checking the website, I didn't see anything other than a phone number either.

best of luck...

I got to hold Alice's since he got one. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Pretty cool toy but not for me.

Well I guess I just have to be happy with the other one from SF58. Really wanted the blue also though. I had this novel idea I'd try to get all four and have them mounted(stacked on top of each other) in acrylic cases much like you did in your toy town, then again where was I going to find the green and brown ones? Did buy the Wire complete series though with some toy money. That will keep me occupied.
