Insults directed at you are irrelevant in the broad spectrum of things, but insults directed at your friends are somehow relevant in the broad spectrum of things? That makes no sense.

As Roger implied, people shouldn't be insulting one another in the first place. When people do insult one another, they should be reprimanded. For some reason, that doesn't happen on this forum. In place of rules, we have the concept of "self-moderation." The community is supposedly moderating itself. We seem to be doing so well

In my opinion, many people on this forum are incredibly biased. They don't want everyone to be held to the same standards. That would mean they (and their friends) would have to exercise some restraint. And they much prefer being able to speak their minds about people they don't much care for when they feel the need.

Ignoring the problems on this board, however, won't make them go away.

There either needs to be concensus as to how everyone should behave (or not behave); or Brian and Ramos need to just lay down the law.
