I've actually given toys away if I'm not into them. But that would make us a community of 10 if we decided to be that naive.
I guess theres no win. Only thing I see right is pretty much what slack corrected me on if your part of the SB community play by the rules they appointed it's the only morally correct thing to do.

so…
Is the siamese Nag out of production? If not i'd like to see more. What do the bottom of the Nag Balls look like? Can they be attached to the bootleg body or are they just placed on top in all those pictures?

I won this lottery and your are damn right I would have sold it at cost plus shipping had I not liked it. Not because I am morally righteous but because I believe in toy ethics and this community. I have been helped out with great deals by far more than 10 board members already so I am not sure what you are getting at. I actually learned my toy ethics at KR but soon found people there preached them but did not live by them themselves (a few exceptions of course). Coming here I have been treated very well by the forum members both in terms of knowledge, advice and great help/deals. Selling something like a NAG to an awesome board member who has never been able to score one would be a win if you value them like I do. I'm not special, or amazing or anything else. I do however see the value of the system in place here when it is followed. "We had a really great thing going on for a while, where people steadily moved through new product that they did not like, passing it along to other board members at a retail price. This encouraged this behavior and allowed everyone to jump start their collections and try different items out without fear. The point of collecting is to buy toys that you like, regardless of value. Hopefully they will all acrue value. But, if you buy toys simply by the perceived dollar signs attached to them you will not only burn yourself, but others as well." - Brian Flynn

No one here questions your so called "flipping" or selling practices.
Where all adults here and decide what we will do with our items once bought. And dont complain if we see and item for a high price. If we dont like something we addres it deal with it and move on.
We HELP each other out when we can. And have good dicussions. The store owners talk with the people, and even help them !!
This is the definitive of what a toy community should be.
So thanks RFSO for the real fan shit !!!
Thank god I found this place !!

Sorry if I misunderstood, I was just trying to say that it isn't an ego or morals thing. I see it as a system that will reward all who play by the intent of the rules. I just hope people can get what they want through everyone being great board members instead of feeling like they have to trade flip to track down their wants. I will shut it. TOYS RULE!

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
while many talk about toy ethics here in the post...
there is not a lot of that that goes down in pm's...
i've gotten some hard to get items that i was after from various releases around the world.
upon obtaining them i had to negotiate the terms of the sale per buyer...
lets just say not every boardie is on here to help the community (don't get me wrong i was fine with every deal that was negotiated.) but to say that most folks on here will simply go out and grab a figure for someone without some kind of compensation, is comical. now i'm sure some folks do in fact do just this. but if we talk about this community as a whole. do you really think the numbers swing to the way of just doing a good deed to do a good deed? or do a good deed, with some compensation on my end?
just healthy discussion is all

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Trade flipping makes no sense as everything is "perceived" or "open market" value when determining the items being traded. Who actually takes into consideration the retail cost of when the item was bought. Given the fact that this new NZOMBI cost twice as much as the normal BGs, it would only be fair to ask for two of them in a trade then right?
Collect what you like. Play your cards right. Be patient as everything comes around.

eckotyper wrote: lets just say not every boardie is on here to help the community I am well aware that in the clandestine p.m. many a shady deal goes down along with some justifiably over retail ones. I have been sent a few offers I am sure the author would not have posted in public and I've paid over retail when I deem it personally justifiable and didn't feel gouged. This doesn't diminish my insistence that there are many a good board member here who do not attempt to squeeze or pilfer you when they hook you up or trade. I wouldn't expect someone to bend over backwards for me but that doesn't mean we should be encouraging trade flipping of brand new lottery wins and micro runs. Good toy karma goes around in my experience; whether it is coincidental, due to people paying it forward or rewarding like behavior is irrelevant to me. I'm not going to become a douche just because they are out there and if that is your logic (people in general, not you Ecko) then you are using it to cover up being a douche in the first place. Anyways, back to toys. This thing is fun and upsets my wife greatly. I wonder if Shig has a name for this head and what his take on the suit is? I was thinking the revealed toy might shed some light but to be honest I am a bit more confused after seeing the paint. In any case, I like it. There's something quite appealing about the contrast between the gray Grover fur and the faux ostrich leather. Like some bastard offspring of my childhood pajamas and some oil Baron's cowboy boots.

But it doesn't have to be that way on skullbrain. If I've learned anything while I've been here it's that if you join and actually engage the community & act accordingly ( ie- do what's right, be passionate about what you're into, help people out when you can and don't be a dick) people will notice and help you out too. Call it the golden rule, RFSO, or whatever- it's real and it's true. Collect & Enjoy don't Collect to Speculate.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Just got back from the post-office picking up my NZombie. And as I was expecting to see the "Thank You IV" lottery header, I instead had my mind-blown. Holy, freaking crap, I just crapped my pants. My faux-Nzombie header. Shig is beyond amazing. Hell, I can't even think of a word for how awesome he is. I'm shaking and speechless. Excited can't even describe. Wow, wow, wow. I'm done.
