I thought about that at first but the more I looked at it, the more I thought that it was part of the head and not breaking out of the head...like the way the guts are coming out of the body. The sculpt at that point is a bit abrupt but there are no cracks around the area, like the body. So the only way I could make more of a connection between the 2 is by over-spray. I should have made the eyes a different color. They're both light or sky blue and they don't stand out at all. This was a sort of nature themed piece...hence the browns and greens. I thought it worked well to show the dempa becoming overcome by nature and coming to life versus the electronics and hardware. There's still a lot of disjoint but it's more the sculpt for me and it's the reason why I kinda like the dempa but not really...but now I'm talking more about the toy so I'll stop there.

Pressed for time. I wanted a lighter shade of blue for both the hands and the stalks. For me it was either blue or green to tie in with the body and make the connection between the stalks and fingertips.

The story with all the Odorons except for 2 (one for S7FL show and other was commissioned)...I have one sitting by my painting area and if there's some paint left in my airbrush, I spray it on the Odoron, depending on how much is left. So, while the pattern is somewhat planned, the colors are not.

This guy is staying with me so the tightness didn't matter to me but yeah, if it was for someone else, I would have gone much tighter. Chaos in general is very busy for me and I have a tough time painting them. As for the bandana turned choker...it's a left over piece of cloth and again, I would have used a bigger piece if it wasn't staying in my collection. At least my airbrush is working again .

Excellent work on the Bako bert. Great colour-fade on the purple to bronze. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of involved work that is, but I do love me some contrasting guts!

Eh? Bronze? I guess I really need to learn to take better pics cause there's no bronze on that Bako. It's just brown, metallic pink, metallic blue...and red and black for the eyes. Are my pics that bad?

In general your pics are fine, but the Bako pics do strike me as a bit 'flat' by comparison. Like Phil said, it probably has a lot to do with the tone of the background and main colors of the fig being too close together.

I really dig that Chaos III as well, even if it does have an awful lot of metallic colors for someone who is constantly calling out the use of metallics The colors on it are really good though, and work well for being such a varied palette. The thing hellopike said about the sprays on the knees makes sense. The only other thing that stuck out to me is that I would have hit the toe-guards with a different color to break up the shoes. The rest of the figure is so detailed that the boots seem a bit odd all in one color. Regardless, I would say your airbrush it working fine!

Toe guards...hmmmm. I guess I missed those. I painted the knuckles green so I probably would have done the same with the toe guards. This guy is probably half metallic. I also painted the Yamobazooka's boots in silver and will probably keep them that way. I like them cause they sort of remind me of tokusatsu boots but I will probably spray the toe guards on the Chaos III and leave the boots on the Yamobazooka the way they are.
