 Re: comics?
Has anyone picked up the new english version of Tezuka's "The Book of Insects"? I am thinking about grabbing it, and wondered if people had any comments or other suggestions? It seems that vertical is doing a great job with some of these older comics.

 Re: comics?
whenever the comic thread pops up i get so stoked!! so right now after this whole stupid DC reboot ,im reading mostly indie and marvel, but even though its mostly crap got to give it to DC for Swamp Thing and Animal Man right now... Scott Snyder and Jeff Lemire are freaking killing it on those titles. Also read anythign Rick Remender writes the man can seriously do no wrong (read Fear Agent).

 Re: comics?
I guess I need to stick with the new Swamp Thing. Read the first issue, and was intrigued, but didn't continue. Same with the new Deadman.
Reading through the 80s Alan Moore Saga of Swamp Thing. Finished Book 5, and ready for the last. Some genius writing, and incredible art along with some of the most engrossing stories I've read in comics (Swamp Things Goes to Hell, and Swamp Thing vs Batman). HIGHLY recommend the series.

 Re: comics?
new swamp thing & animal man are my favorites right now. I'm still waiting to read last weeks though, I fell behind. I like a lot of the new 52 stuff though, i've been reading a good bit of it. Wonder Woman is cool, Frankenstein, Action Comics, All the various Batman titles, Detective, Batman, Batman Oddysey, Justice League, Justice League Dark, there are so many more I keep forgetting about them. There are still some number 1's i've gotten and haven't gotten around to reading yet. Scott Snider & Jeff Lemire are both writing several books & theirs kinda tend to be my favorites as of late & Grant Morrison of course.

Really interested in picking this up... Inside art... Quote: The very first graphic storytelling collaboration between two masters of the medium, Alexandro Jodorowsky and Mœbius.
In a desolate dreamscape world, a man, a bird, and a cat interact in a unique apocalyptic yet poetic fashion…

 Re: comics?
I'm sure it's a quick read. I like taking time and study the illustrations in books like this. My friend gave me this book by Darrow... It's in french but it only has a sentence or two in it. It is a large size book and has these incredible fold out pages. I often pull it out and stare at the drawings.

I didn't even know who he was until I read Uncanny X-Force (which is great by the way) and I started reading other books by him. I read the first Fear Agent GN and I plan on picking up more of that series. I recently picked up the GN's of Remender's Punisher run and I really enjoyed them: The first one, Punisher: Dark Reign was pretty good, kinda typical Punisher stuff which usually isn't really my cup of tea. The second, Dead End was good and used a bunch of obscure villains well. The third, Franken-Castle is fantastic. It is a completely over the top, fun ride. Monsters and Monster hunters throughout. I loved it. Can't wait for his run on Secret Avengers!

I loved it. Can't wait for his run on Secret Avengers! so first off Rick is like the nicest dude on the planet and if you noticed or not all the fear agent trades are named after hardcore songs the dude used to be straight edge in his youth which shows in the punisher in his supporrting cast... As far as Frankencastle goes Rick sold me on his whole approach to marvel when we talked about it at SDCC "i just feel like all this crazy shit happens in the MU and nothing ever really fuckin crazy happens to the punisher... they're comics they should be crazy" so true! Finally if you all enjoy Remender Fear Agent is amazing but Strange Girl also kicks ass all the trades are available and named after Smiths songs, which is actually what started a very long music discussion between he and i that bored the crap at of voodoobell lol

 Re: comics?
yesterday I picked up new Scott Snyder Batman #5, a new Grant Morrison title from Boom comics, Steed & Mrs. Peel, based on the Avengers TV show. My Greatest Adventure #4 & Wonder Woman #5, Snarked & a BRPD spinoff, Lobster Johnson. There are no indie comics at the shops in my area. I really miss living near Meltdown. Best comic store in the whole world!
