Really great, productive day today; next step in Mike Ridge's work is smoothing the sculpt with alcohol (as well as fixing the spikes that cracked a bit today as we pushed back their angles a bit, to insure a good lock with the foam headpiece), then he'll begin the real detail work, bringing out the various Gara-textures...

FIVE DOLLARS... today is a great day to give even $5 to The Becoming; if enough people reading this do so, I believe we can reach the real tipping point that will allow the project to sail to full funding!

Congrats on meeting the goal Mike. Now to set the next level I hope we can still keep funding it as the project grows. It's still strong in the back of my mind.

I appreciate the thought very much, Steve; I’m pretty set for now, though! Actually, I now face a decision of either reimbursing myself the hundreds I’ve already invested in the project… or using that money to have Mike Ridge pour and paint a second copy of the mask, for which I would also fabricate a new, second headpiece. This would be a green version, thus allowing me to have two distinct, separate Gara-personas (I already have some fun ideas around this… ). I’m leaning towards the latter.

In any case, I’m hoping that I can find opportunities (I have a wide range of ideas on what they may be) to use the existing pieces of the suit and the Garamike persona itself to generate funds to help me continue to chip away at the full torso section of the suit and make it as great as it can be (hoping that I can have it done by fall of this year). I really love the idea that sometimes, I will choose to appear in the more humanoid aspect (head/mask, tail, hands and legs/feet… with whatever sort of human wardrobe I feel moved to wear that day), and other times I can go fully Garamonic- the fully-realized robot-monster aspect with spike-covered torso and shortened arms, etc. I’m also counting it a blessing for this project that I live in a place where, temperature-wise, being encased in silicone and foam rubber is not too daunting a prospect, most of the year.

@ David: HA! Yes. I was just thinking about that guy last night, kinda wishing he was still in residence at FOE for the opening nt... my Mini Me. I wish I had a green-gold lame suit to wear that night!
