Crap I had to mail something tomorrow! Good news is we're in the clear for the next 3 months. The longest period without a postal holiday.

Re: Worst days of the year for (American) toy collectors...
I'll share this here because it's USPS-related and funny. Package sent Priority from Massachusetts to Florida. I'm not worried, I'm sure it'll get here. But what a crazy route! Even with this weird delivery, I'm actually a really big fan of USPS. In my experience, their tracking is far more reliable and correct than FedEx or UPS. I really like their rates, and the people who work in my local office are super friendly and awesome. So is my delivery guy. I actually had him wait at my door once while I opened a 1000% Bearbrick because I was worried that I had been sent a box full of rocks. I definitely got a super weird look from him when he saw what it was, but now he always asks me about what toys are in the boxes that he's delivering to me.

Re: Worst days of the year for (American) toy collectors...
I've had this weird issue when sending out a few packages before. They've never gone to Hawaii but I did have an instance when a package that was supposed to go to a location a few hours from mine was delayed because it decided to go to a different state altogether. The good thing is despite the delay the package finds its way back to its destination.

Re: Worst days of the year for (American) toy collectors...
I had a skully from Portland Oregon go to Puerto Rico before coming here to Buffalo last month. With the post office so in debt and processing centers closing all over, I'm sure you'll get more weird trips in the future. Still amazed how quick EMS is. I had a package leave Japan on Wednesday night arrive here on Friday morning???? Insane.

Re: Worst days of the year for (American) toy collectors...
I had something from Lulubell go to Peurto Rico first for a week for no good reason.
I've had just as bad experiences with FedEx and UPS, and USPS is usually cheaper though so whatever. I wish I could email physical objects, this is the future, what the hell?!

Re: Worst days of the year for (American) toy collectors...
Does it normally take a week to get a package from Long Island to Philly ? It does when Post Office employees are hijacking your package and stealing the contents. After a year of complaining to the Postmaster General, all I got was an email saying their investigation was completed.

Spare a bit of appreciation for our friends in the military folks.
Have a good Veterans' Day!
