Every time I go out with my friends there it turns into a game of "let's see what the gaijin will eat." So far I've eaten raw horse and whale cutlet, but passed on the prawn compelte with legs and eyes.

You can halibut cheeks by the pound when in season, just the cheeks, no head. Makes great tempura or bouillabaisse.

Cheeks are the tastiest part. I've eaten live lobster and shrimp but I don't know what else I'd eat that was still alive.

Seeing as we're on the topic, check this link out. I've posted it here before but it is a must read when it comes to culinary adventures.
