It's cool this thread has been bumped, but I wanted to try to both expand

Toho has been around since the 1932 and has produced dozens of amazing films in those 80 years. We've got a great thread going for Japanese films in general and I think discussion of the whole of Toho would go great there -

I've never seen Young Guy vs. Blue Guy or Zone Fighter, but other than than that I'd say that every toku from '54 - '77 has something to recommend about it. Hard for me to pluck a favorite, but Godzilla, Matango, Gargantuas and Hedorah are hard to beat.
Of those produced after the heyday, GMK is definitely my favorite. It's a really good reimagining of the mythology, and I'm completely in love with the modern take on Baragon.
