Not too long ago I rewached the Robotech saga for the first time since I was 12 or so. I was really impressed by how good the original Macross storyline was, and how philosophical. When I hit the Southern Cross series, it was a bit of a letdown. Turning protoculture into energy goo really took the magic out of the story in my book. I still enjoyed the mechs, and the later Invid storyline was still fun with the transforming motorcycles. But the original Macross really shines through as the best.

I haven't re-watched Star Blazers. That show hold a unique place in my memory from when I was 5 or 6, and I'll be damned if I'm going to ruin any of my memories with the taint of reality. Yes, I said taint.

I'm not going to lie, born in 85 means I'm young enough that I had NO CHANCE of seeing the show it's first time around, but in 94/95 Cartoon Network was playing it. The show started about 10 minutes before I got out of school, and every day I would literally run home for it. This meant I got to watch the final scene, end credits, and "next time on Robotech"

The stuff I'm actually watching now is Young Justice, Regular Show, Adventure Time and the occasional older show. As a kid I loved classic Looney Toons, Merry Melodies, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, Hannah Barbara, etc. Even though I was obviously into the late 80's & early 90's shows, I still can't get away from those classics. I'm thankful that Boomerang still airs the goods. Gatchaman is also worth revisiting from time to time.

I cannot express how unhappy this URL will make my girlfriend, now that I know of it. I've had it on for almost 2 hours now
