 Show us your Ultraman Collection
This thread is strictly for pics of Ultraman family toys (Ultraman, Ultra 7, Jack, Leo, Nise etc etc no monsters or nemesis). I searched high and low and found none dedicated to Ultraman collections on SB, which is a crying shame. Can be modern or vintage. I will have more pics soon but I wanted to start off with the few I have on hand now: I'm sure Choon and Coop will have many pics to contribute!

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
Here's a scrappy old picture of a scrappy old shelf - an update is *l o n g* overdue! Great idea for a thread, and like your Garamon/Pigmon one it's unbelievable that it didn't exist before now. I've kind of wanted to start one for the Science Patrol/Ultra Guard/MAT/ etc - maybe we can allow those human heroes that help/host our silver and red friends in here too? Raging Dork Dept.I'm all for allowing both, but Nise is most definitely a nemesis - he's Zarab in disguise! - and CAIN is actually from Jumborg Ace, a non-Ultrashow where Tsuburaya Productions made what I guess you could call patchi characters from their own earlier creations!

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
Nice collection, definitely show us an update. I especially like the M1 'reverse color' Ultraman. Heard the original was super rare because it was reversed and marketed to girls but didn't work out so well.
Oh I don't care if you want to show human/science patrol counterparts, it's cool. Just no monsters. It's been 30 years since I've actually seen a Ultraman episode so that's my excuse for not remembering Nise is actually Alien Zarab in disguise. Should have known with the eyes.

@Lixx (or anyone, I guess)- What is the deal with the Butanohana figure in the middle of your shot? It looks like Ultraman, but I remember its name being something like "Emerald Seijin."

I think someone told me or I found out online that his name was Ultra Alien Emerald, still have no idea who or what that was. Butanohana seems to reference some pretty obscure characters. EDIT: Wait toothaction just said who his was. Cain from Jumborg Ace. Found this online also from the Club Tokyo site: New Butohana Releases Reported by Richard. 27 Feb, 2008 Two new BUTANO-HANA figures released at Wonderfest; THUNDER MASK (Comic version) and CAIN(Jumborg Ace). Both stand 5 inches tall Although the CT site shows a pic of the other Emerald figure so you never know this one might be different (but probably from the same show)

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
Ah, so it was a character from Jumborg Ace. Interesting. Kind of random. Thanks.

Wait I gave the wrong CT reference, here is the one I should have copied: New Butohana Emerald Seijin Reported by Richard. 14 Jan, 2008 This Butohana Emerald Seijin (JUMBORG ACE)is about 5 inches tall and will be available this month (January). So the one in my pic is Emerald Sejin and the other is Cain. Thank tooth, he named the show I had no idea

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
^^^ it's the reverse, actually! The smooth headed Buta guy is the one called Emerald-Seijin - he shows up in the first episode, dream sequence-style, and bequeaths the giant android Jumborg Ace to a human in need. The guy in your photo is called CAIN, or Jumborg 9 - he's a second android sent to help Ace out later on in the series. I wonder why Our Man Buta didn't make Jumborg Ace while he was at it... Anyway, the show aired all through '73, the same year as Taro, and is a really entertaining hodgepodge of all the shows that came before it. Worth a hunt. To get us back on topic, here's a blinged-out Zoffy:

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
I'm going to annoyingly keep this thread going to compete with any of the million and one patchi toy threads here. I refuse to have it buried. Anyhow I'd say if it's red/grey (or gid/red, plain gid or any other variant with grey) or scientist orange it falls under the category for pics in this thread.

Its stuff like this that make this board awesome. Didnt know any of this. Great idea for a thread Chris. Heres my Ultra-fam shelf Ill save the rest for later to keep this thread from dropping off the map

Re: Show us your Ultraman Collection
I've only got a few Ultraman toys but I'll try to snap a pic this weekend. Mostly M1go and the Buta Nise. I've got 2 giants...the regular painted and a blank gid which is to remain blank . Love the 2 big guys but I'd love to have a painted gid one. I wish I had snagged the red M1go Ultraman that Grumble had for sale.

Nice Bert, I'm starting to believe everyone has a Giant M1 Ultraman but me! Wow you do really play a lot of hockey. I thought I was looking at Thornton's locker or something!

That's not even half of my hockey sticks. I used to work in a shop so sticks would be dirt cheap and once in a while, a company would give me a freebie to try out. I kinda miss working in a shop...free sharpening, super cheap equipment almost every year, it was pretty fun. But yeah, only my Mutant Head, Gargamess, or ChoroQ collections outnumber my hockey sticks. As for the big guys, I got the glow in last year's LB (along with the mask), and the other one was at an S7 sale years ago. There was an unpainted glitter gray as well but I didn't care for it. There's one that I forgot to put in. It's a Koji custom of one of the mini M1go Ultraman.
