Every now and then a toy comes around that is just ugly as hell. KR shit excluded, what is the sculpt that made you think... What the fuck is that?

First one that comes to mind for myself

don't get me wrong, Ricky is an incredible sculptor AND painter. But when I saw this for the first time my gut reaction was definitely like, holy shit this is fugs. which for some people is a great thing.

the zandora has more appeal in those different color ways, but still doesn't save it for me. Is it a Drill with eyes?

Basically, yeah. It's from Zone Fighter. Bullmark spin-off company, Orange, made a vinyl figure of it in the late 70s. Charactics based this figure on the original standard size toy.

Yes! The versions with hair are particularly horrendous.

I've actually always liked the Charactics Zandora for some reason, with the Devastator one being the best. I just bought the one in that photo. \":)\"

I like XXX-La too because it's so absurd.

Nags are meh. I like some versions, but they are few and far between. Hair and clothes don't belong on sofubi.

This:

Not because of the sculpt, because it's one of my favorites ever. Not because of the colors, because the palette is great. But the paint application just totally kills it for me... Yet I still own one.

And BLObPUS Gori Gori and Ichibanboshi Monkey Man. I think I just don't like most monkey sculpts.

I know I'm going to start a fight, but Skull Bee. Sorry dudes. I appreciate it's history and roll, I respect the skill behind it's sculpt and all. I just think it's ugly. It (don't know why) reminds me of Nu Metal. Plus I don't care about Judo.

In the end it's a tough topic. I mean I like ugly toys (Nag, Bemon, Chaos) and actually respect and appreciate most of the sculptors/creators and their work even if I'm not a fan of the toy. But that's mine. Skull Bee. Especially those split ones. Go ahead, bash me now
