i was going to say that i really don't care what your ebay handle is if you're not a flipper... but on second thought i suppose it would come in handy if i needed to do a quick search.

Re: oust the flipper
We used to share eBay names not to know who is or isn't a flipper but to not outbid a friend on something and drive prices up.

Re: oust the flipper
Does anyone know a ********* from New York? Cause that's who Dynamixtoy is. I will say that he doesn't start his auctions at unreasonable prices, half the problem is with us. 2 guys start bidding against each other, and bam, a thousand dollar auction, why can't we set a limit, at say no more than 50 dollars more than the item costs from the maker. It's like a slap in the face for guys like Rich and Paul, to see other people making an easy buck for doing little to nothing. It's like they had to struggle, and take chances, come up with great ideas, and go broke getting them made, for some E-bay seller to make a 600% profit. Quit rewarding bad behavior.
When I see a guy get a collection overnight, the real reason I get pissed isn't because he has stuff I don't (I'm always praising collections filled with treasures I love). It's because I know what you had to spend to get it. Again, that's just rewarding bad behavior, and I see no difference between doing that, and flipping them yourselves.
In short: Mcgowanm95 "come at me bro, come at me"
BTW Pyro, Dybbukim, Coma21, who it Yukonfink, if it's not you, than why not let everyone know who it really is, unless your supportive of people flipping shit. (I'm not being sarcastic, at all)

Re: oust the flipper
Good question.
I am still waiting for him to reply to a PM I sent him asking him essentially if, "You talking about me?" when he wrote "Dykbum". Remember this is the guy everybody let slide, except me, when he made his "gaydar" remarks in the Jason Russel thread.
Also, as education to all you newbs, Glenn Pogue (yeah, him) used to have a thread here that listed essentially everyone's ebay handles so we would know if we were bidding against another board member, which was discouraged. That was when you could see on ebay who was bidding. He later removed it for privacy purposes.

Re: oust the flipper
Just to get this out there, I just made a spelling error, and wasn't writing this to pick on you, or anyone in paticular, you were just the person involved in the situation. I think that whole debacle could have been settled by whoever knows Yukonfink, or bought from him in the past. For all the denying that was going on I don't know why the people involved in this wouldn't just say I bought it from _____, or traded it to _____ instead of just passing over it like it's old news. I'd personally like to know because if it really wasn't Pyro, I feel bad, for the way I acted about it. I really just don't want to sell stuff to people that are going to take it to e-bay a week later.
Edit: For the record, to be honest, the only real Gaydar I know of is Grindr. All I really meant was for some reason I have the knack of being able to tell if someone is gay by body language. Not that I have to justify my sexuality, but I've had serious relationships with both men, and women. Growing up in a right wing, Christian fundamentalist, area of Michigan, it was always something that had to be kept hidden.
I'm married to a girl, but that's because I fell in love with her, I think just as some people are gay, and some are straight, some people are wired to be attracted to either sex.
I'll say this once, and it will be the last time, I hate derogatory names, I was called a f** every day at school, not to mention getting sugar in my gas tank, my window smashed out, spray paint on my car... etc... I would never pick on anyone because of their religion, race, or sexual orientation, because I've been at the receiving end and it's horrible. I could have just addressed this in a P.M., but I think it's important that people know why you shouldn't throw around those words. I had a good friend commit suicide in high school, and it's because he got picked on non stop for being gay. Believe this, if you think your words aren't powerful, and can't hurt people, your wrong, I've had first hand experiences paying for others mistakes.

Re: oust the flipper
I received Slipstar's apology and accept it. I won't type more about it.
We all make mistakes, as I said. I have made many here over the years.
Again, I think the focus should be on the habitual flippers. I have nothing to add about Pyro; personally he seems to be a great guy. If he flips Mishka toys, then that should be an issue with them because surely they could figure it out. I think that whole thing should also be forgotten.
I propose that we all impose a voluntary ban on sales to new board members (less than 6 months) who come to the board waiving lots of cash, at least until we see if they will soon sell their treasures or not. Sometimes open arms is an invitation to flip.

Re: oust the flipper
now that i'm not as new as i was, that sounds like a great idea. until i remember that this is actually where my collection got its start (ok, not really, it was Toy Tokyo). Most of my collection was through SB believe it or not!

Re: oust the flipper
sorry guys, I personally will not support a sales ban on newbies.
flipping and flippers will exist no matter what. punishing new guys to the board just for being new won't help.
want to stop flipping? don't overpay for toys. period. There are many critics in this very thread who I know for a fact have paid outrageous amounts for toys.
you're just as much to blame..... if not the real cause.

Re: oust the flipper
Who but noobs trying to figure out what they like buy toys on the BST? It seems like most old(er)timers have got their collections pretty much rounded out and are looking for the same über-rare pieces... I mean, try to find a want thread without either Boss Carrions, Ollies, AAs or Nags in it...

Re: oust the flipper
Ok, then, any more info on those flippers with ebay "stores" who solicit toys on here? Why don't we stick to that? Then we will know who to be cautious of. That's what I thought this thread was originally about before a couple sidetracks. . .

Re: oust the flipper
I'm a new guy and I certainly don't mind waiting and putting in time before earning the right to buy here, but assuming ALL new guys with cash to spend are flippers is a bit much. That's why I joined was to increase my collection and knowledge of toys.
