 Dissected Kaws
it showed up today. It does not dissapoint. This has to be the highest quality piece I have seen for a very long time in all ways.

yes..it is very close to the 99 'dark' color. a darker greay body and brownish grey shoes and shorts. so its nice with the other 5yl ones.

That explains a lot! I guess they couldn't be 100% sure of (or just plain didn't want to try) hitting the same colours as the original 5YL's and went for an 'in between' version . . . they look SICK together!
BTW I think the Labbit growth hormone is working . . . that fuckers as big as your plan chest!

Looks really good together. Now you need to commision a "Dissected '99 Companion".

Holy crap! I never wanted a 5YL or even a 99, but when you see them in a row like that... it pains me!

My dissected showed up yesterday. It's my first Companion and it's soooo lonely...
I can't imagine a worse time in the Kaws hype machine to start hunting 5YLs but I'm hunting nonetheless.

I like the '99 Companions quite a bit, but I'm not willing to pay crazy money for them. The 5YL's (and the Dissected) don't do much for me. Nevertheless, that is a really nice display.

Me neither!
Plus the fact that most I see have had badly fixed broken legs or were a bit shady means my $$$ being thrown elsewhere!

top stuff and nice choice of combination.. Did you get these at kawsone, or had to buy them for a more expensive price? I could never get them as they were too expensive...

Agree. Too much $$$ to spend on something potentially broken and or very fragile.
Heard stories of them breaking during shipping. No thanks.

when you realize that it will cost too much and want to nip it in the bud, I'll buy your dissected...remember this offer.

I bought my 99 companions back in 99 for like whatever retail was at release. less than 85 bucks each. on the 5yls I scored successfully 5 times in a row on kawsone.
the only Kaws i got raped on was the dissected. hell I got all my chums for original retail too cause when they released they sat around Forever no one wanted them.
its only in the last 18 months or so his stuff has gotten ballistic.

Were the 99 companions made in China too? JUst curious, as the legs keep snapping off. (I don't have this set).
Back in the day, CHUM figs were readily available in all variety of colors and went for $50 or less. Stacked up high in toys shops. HK collector's focussed on the Michael Lau stuff at the time.

Did anyone see my post of Damien Hirst pics of the huge mother statue? It's so similar to the KAws dissected.
