Have you had one in hand? see i'm conflicted i have a decent pop soda collection but for me its the body that makes me love it and the head keeps me from hoarding it its weird but the toy def rules in hand and that varsity jacket on mess just rules

On that topic I was surprised to find the giant "CURE" on the back of the Devil Boogie Man Tomato head...

I really like the writing on the back of the Cure tomato head and on the back of the obake dog zombie head, It doesn't take away from the sculpt unless you display your toys backwards.

Re: The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.
See I'm weird, but I don't mind the writing on the jacket, a jacket has writing on it, but I don't like that his head is made up of Popsoda. I didn't like the Shikaruna Doral with the SP on it, because the was out of place. The tampo I'm fine with if it belongs, just as I'm fine with the makers print on the feet, but I just don't see writing belonging on a monsters body. I'm just to much into the idea of monsters, to want to see it.

Re: The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.
Never a fan of this sculpt (for the same reason as others ... the face lettering doesn't "work" and who the heck are the Posoda guys, anyway?) ... however, this is the best one ever released, thanks to the excellent paint scheme conceived by a certain local boardie... Didn't manage to pick this one up but if I had I never would have regretted it. I don't know about "fugly" but some of the Biollante sculpts out there are just too much, too big, too complex, too too for my taste.

Do you count the tampo printing as writing on them, or the fact that the skullbrain has the "SB" sculpted into it? Tampo isn't the same as writing to me. For instance, the Day of the 13th (?) Bees with Usugrow, Hiro Grimm, etc on the back are fine, but the Atmos figures are not. And the SB on the back of the Brain is subtle enough that it doesn't bother me.

I find it interesting that almost all my favorite figures have gotten at least one mention in this thread. That ninja alien is pretty horrible though.

Re: The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.
I don't understand the whole lets-make-terrible-toys-for-the-sake-of-terrible-toys scene. Toys to shock I understand but not toys that are meant to look shit. It doesn't make sense to me....that last toy doesn't seem to have any real points of sense. Why write TOY on it's chest is that so it remembers what t is? I don't like that POPSODA have writing on the face but the toys still have a certain look to them that creates a place in the toy scene, that last thing is just a tangled abomination.

Re: The fugliest toys you have seen while collecting.
That's dopey, that just reminds me of those posters that say "SEX- Now we have your attention....." That toy reminds me of when they reissued trolls in the TMNT line as booties in HK....except it has plastic hair and not hair-hair.
