Oh don't be logical and blame the people who'll pay $1500+ for a toy that just got released! That's how they show their "true passion" it's not their fault, surely!

How about this who's painteddunny, and who are the people who got ants in their pants.

God damn, nothing said here matters, and nothing get's through does it. I mean whats the difference between what your doing, and slapping the maker in the face.

The flipper isn't slapping the maker in the face. The maker got his cash. The people on the boards who whine and moan but then openly admit they will pay any price are the ones who cause this market to exist. Especially for toys that had no market but hype.

Hey I totally agree with you, I just need to start doing yoga or something, so I can relax, I was talking about the situation as a whole (not just the person flipping), To be honest, I think everyone in the situation is culpable.

I guess what makes me feel bad, is this, I bought this from someone that pre-ordered 2, he sold me his extra at cost, now I feel bad for the people that didn't get one, and most likely won't, because someone who doesn't mind spending 500 on a toy beats them to it. It's just a bummer.

I've heard several makers articulate that it's offensive to them. As Brian points out in his no flipping sticky, if S7 wanted to sell RV's for $100 that's what they would do. Isn't the insult of watching others profit off your hard work what caused Bemon to move to his current YJA selling method and AA to shutdown all outside sales besides his list? Not only would I argue that it insults many makers but also contributes to a somewhat hostile environment in general where makers have to wonder if any generosity will be taken advantage of. Just my thoughts though and I do fully agree with all of your other points.

I don't hero worship toy makers. If they want to try to mark up their creations more power to them. This is what Bemon did, he's basically flipping his own toys. Do I respect that? No. Does it make sense to me? Sure. The individuals who offer to pay any price to a person who picked up a new release will go throw the money directly to the maker.

No need to look further than a few hyped toys here released in very small quantities just to make cash. They are making a luxury good for a market that has a limited demand. Some people have calculated and played that for all it is worth. As for generosity from toy makers, I don't know what you are referring to really, but after collecting secret base for over a decade, the only really cool thing I got out of it was Hiddy opening a treasure chest at the old store and seeing if I wanted to buy any of the pieces in it.

If you want to blame anyone for the market look right at this board and some of its members. Even the real head market was attempted to be co-opted to control pricing and profit and one point.

Look we are all capable and susceptible to paying more for a toy then we should so everyone is at fault the matter is all of us finding the line and agreeing when things are out of hand. Like I said earlier I won't pay more then $200 for a rebel captain and I have yet to get one. I accept that there may be some level of mark up but I refuse the idea of paying more then 100% on anything. Then again I originally came from the comic book toy world where everything has always been like that but it rarely gets to the level of out of hand I have seen things get to lately. Maybe its me but I feel like the flippers are taking over. We can all only hope that the hype dies out and the flippers find the next big thing to make a quick buck off of.

Well, as for maker generosity I can think of a few things although I can't mention some. I was speaking more in term of pricing though. I do understand your point though and I do not seek to put it on the makers. Flippers do seem to affect both buyers and makers was my main point and I think there are some who are offended by the practice. I am not trying to argue the point that the flippers only exist because the buyers create a market, I think we all have to admit you are spot on there. If people wouldn't buy it at that price, there would be no business prospects for them to take advantage of.

Whoever outlook8 is on ebay, you need a fucking punch in the face! It was specifically stated not to resell those in the last lottery OR the maker would not sell overseas to anyone ever again! Are you that fucking daft that you would fuck over an entire community? And to the moronic bidders? Really? You're just as guilty! I'm done with the board. A bunch of hypocritical whiners who can't ever live by any kind of code!

is there a way for only active users to be able to access forums? I know on some of the other forums I read I had to sign up to even be able to lurk.

i agree with griz. let's see if we can disable lurking...

when it starts to affect the possibility of ever being able to score a certain toy, it's serious. i didn't realize this but lixx is right. i hope it doesn't come to that.

What is he right about? HxS never specifically stated anything. He implied he was considering not selling overseas due to flipping (though most Gorilla flipping was coming out of Japan) then after the sale he stated something along the lines of "thinking about it."

He had once before stated "Applicants resale "Please refrain! ! ! ". I think he has asked several times now and it seems pretty clear he does not want these flipped. Here is a link...

I really hope he does not plan on stop selling overseas(Not getting into who flips more).

I still believe registering buyers would solve a lot of problems. Yes, it'd be a hassle, but we're not talking about thousands of copies here. You number the toys and then link them with a name/cc. Toy flipped? Buyer banned.

You're a moron Jeff. Learn to read between the lines. What do you think it means? Hey go ahead and flip, then I'll consider my options?! You just love to disagree with me, happens all the time.

Seriously I'm sick of this shit. All I said was it was not a specific statement, it was not. If you want to go throwing around words like moron then eat shit. I was having a normal fucking conversation. Don't pm me to deal with this. I won't respond. I've been as civil as I could be, I'm not calling anyone names, just stating I disagree with your terminology and you want to call me a moron?
