 Re: New Mook?
I think Brian Flynn custom vinyl covers would be a nice touch.

 Re: New Mook?
So is there a current update? Amazon pulled the release date. It's not on barnes and noble.
I know people shrug it off..but I'm really bummed out about how this turned out. It seems like this went to the backburner which is fine but the mook went from a supposed twice a year deal (I think) to a long 5 year gap.
Can someone please message...if they know the story. If it's postponed another year..then let me know so I don't have to keep checking or if it's off indefinitely fine. I was really excited when I went for the subscription but 5 YEARS is a long gap.
I love the first mook..I have most of the magazines. I really want this but I feel like there's never been a straight answer.

 Re: New Mook?
We have a fully fleshed out book, then we switched publishers. In between we were able to secure a huge article, that would blow people's minds. In doing so, we altered the mook to hold it. That article in still only 50% done, and we are waiting on the other half. We have contemplated many scenarios since then, even bringing back the magazine in the meantime. We are just as frustrated as you are. We will have one or the other soon!

 Re: New Mook?
I'll put up $100 cash for my subscription to the magazine, just say the word. Down to do through Kickstarter too for that matter. Whatever gets that sweet toy content flowing.

 Re: New Mook?
Would be cool to see a return of the mag format, I think everyone here would subscribe in a second, right? Go on S7, you know it makes sense...

 Re: New Mook?
Figured it wouldn't hurt to add a +1 here -- I absolutely loved the magazine and have nearly every issue. It's one of the driving forces behind my initial crush on sofubi and seeing it return would make for a giant collective nerdgasm.

 Re: New Mook?
I wonder if doing a digital super 7 magazine, as opposed to a print one, would make it more financially viable to do. I vote for a monthly digital magazine and an annual printed mook

 Re: New Mook?
For me at least, a digital magazine would be very off putting. I really prefer to read physical material rather than staring at a screen.

 Re: New Mook?
i'd obviously also prefer print, but considering that S7 moved away from print, what are the odds of them really coming back to it on a regular basis? I'm pretty sure they saw the writing on the wall when it comes to publishing magazines these days. Hell, that's how we landed up with the Mook in the first place isn't it?

 Re: New Mook?
I vote digital. I don't need more clutter. Plus, it should be more financially viable than paper, no?

 Re: New Mook?
i'm down for a digital version. How would that work? a site that only paid members could see? I'm liking the possibilties.

 Re: New Mook?
a digital magazine just doesn't make sense. no one wants to pay for a pdf also, it isn't any fun to read a digital file on the shitter (all my s7 mags are in the bathroom)

 Re: New Mook?
^i think the likes of apple newsstand and amazon marketplace would disagree. Digital = less cost to produce, less cost to the consumer, greater potential for audience size, no shipping etc. In fact throw in the awesome stuff bloggers like kaijuchronicle are doing with video interviews etc. and you could see a more global and informative magazine if you go digital. Obviously it's a hot potato topic these days and , ultimately, it comes down to whether you have a tablet device or not. I'd love to live in a world where both these (print/dig) exist though... along with a weekly kaiju podcast I love my s7 magazines, but a quick trip to ebay reminds me of how annoying it is to not have a complete set and have to hunt down 2nd hand issues at stupid prices.

 Re: New Mook?
wing_clipper wrote: no one wants to pay for a pdf That's how I feel. I'd much rather pay a premium for a tangible product. If it was digital-only I probably wouldn't want to pay more than $2 (and even then I wouldn't because I don't have a tablet). But for a magazine I'd go $5-8. I feel the same way about music - I'd much rather pay $25 for an LP than $9.99 for an MP3.
