Re: On a positive note ...
Positive, let's see that's a tough one. Oh wait no it is not. A huge positive for me is this week is my last round of chemotherapy. Hopefully my last treatment ever(looks good so far). I have a great girlfriend who has been a huge help during my treatments and also puts up with my collecting. While she doesn't understand collecting she never says a word and allowed me to fill the attic with toys and gives me a place to watch bad Kaiju movies while I'm stuck inside recovering from the treatments.
Also thanks for all the members who contact you to help you out with releases or toys you missed. It's one thing to answer wants, but to go out of your way to offer up something they know you would like is just extroidanary.
Final positive(for now), Danzig Legacy is on tour, while I flew to Chicago to see this last year, this year I get to take a 15 minute train ride to see Danzig play Samhain and Misfits songs.

Re: On a positive note ...
Felt like this thread needed to be updated... I love the feeling you get sometimes when you open up a new toy. No matter how many pictures you've seen of it, it still blows you away when you finally get it in your hands. Case and point: I recently got this guy, my 1st Yamomark x Blobpus toy. It's amazing! The crazy colors, the detail of the sculpt, its size, how it glows in the dark, all of that. Its what makes all this so special

On a positive note, I love toy makers that take the time and give great customer service to every person they sell something to. I had a shipping issue that could have been a big hassle, but the person selling me the toy, took the time to make sure the toy got to me safe and sound. Looking forward to my package tomorrow!

Making friends through love of the same toys. The day I start making enemies because of toys is the day I stop making toys.

For almost 10 years it's always been a once a day thing for me as I was winding down at night, my evening ritual... but this past year it kind of consumed me a bit more. However for the last week I've been running a couple miles each day, eating healthier, and have been back on point with the little tasks leftover from my remodel (painting louvered doors is SO TEDIOUS... I can see why I put it off for a year ), and I'm going to pick skateboarding back up now that my head is clear. That is my positive note for this month. I feel really good about the change

I feel like there is definitely a time and place for it. As you get older that time gets smaller and smaller Thats awesome you are taking care of yourself. I need to get out and do more physical activity myself. I got a bike a few years back and I love to ride in the city. You can really take in the scenery on a bike. It so much better than a car. Have a great day everyone!

Keep rocking cube! And make sure you take that dog out for a run too!
Positive note for today? Pizza. And as cliche as it sounds, can't wait for the weekend! Editing 56 interviews of the same script is frying my eyes (and mind), and I'm ready to couch it out and fry my eyes watching some good TV.
And looking to get some cheesecake this weekend. Why, I don't know, but I want some.

Speaking of "cheese" and "holiday", the Grilled Cheese Grill is celebrating their 3rd birthday this weekend with all sandwiches costing $4.20. I'll be having the Quesus at some point this weekend... http://grilledcheesegrill.com/

Re: On a positive note ...
positively a brighter day for me -
after fucking around downtown forever looking for the kinkos- finding it- then driving around even longer to find parking- get inside and hand the dude my flashdrive of artwork i wanted printed to cardstock...
first one comes up "wow man it really reminds me of old comic style printing offset like that"
(getting happy)
second print of my ultraman menko cards " man i love ultraman"
(feeling great)
even people in small towns who dont care about toys still have knowledge of awesome things.

Re: On a positive note ...
So I have been away from home for a couple of weeks and I am really looking forward to my living room and all those little guys and those popping colors. This is just about appreciating what I have. Guess it helps being away to really recall why I bought them in the first place! They are just fun!!!

Re: On a positive note ...
I know some people like to hate on Star Wars, and I have to admit that Lucas's obsession with forever tweaking his films can get on my nerves. In the past I've forced my daughters to periodically watch them with me. They are now 8 & 10 years old. We have enjoyed Ultraman, Godzilla, Johnny Quest, etc. As anyone with anyone with kids in this age range knows, it gets harder and harder to find entertainment for the family that we can all agree on.When they were younger it was so much easier to dictate whatever cool video or movie I wanted to put on. Sorry to ramble...Let's get to the point. We recently let the girls watch Monty Python's the Holy Grail. I mention this only to segue into what happened last night as we were watching the Empire Strikes Back. When Luke was escaping from the Wampa my little one turned to us and said. "Aw, that's ok Wampa, it's only a flesh wound." Needless to say, we all had a good laugh. So that is what keeps me positive these days, the love of cross polinating all these various cultures and facets of life.

Re: On a positive note ...
Went to a huge con here in Australia...it's the only time of the year I ever get to see a large group of people...all happy, all positive, all together for a common cause: To be massive toy/sci-fi/art geeks so thats a good feeling. I still think the worst costumes are the best. Guy-with-a-bucket-on-his-head with "Irun Mun" written on it and fat korean superman beats $1000 costume guy every time! My favorite guy was the guy dressed as SalaryStack and when I asked who he was supposed to be he said "An old dude like you wouldn't have heard of the Sucklord..." and I said "Yeah, you're probably right!" That was the best part of the day!
