Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
It was the previous newsletter. The long one with several release dates in it. But someone pm'd me. Thanks though D-Lux.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Not sure if I should post in this thread or not (newish to the Grody scene), but I bought a Grody from a boardie, and for some reason the head/neck is very loose. Distractingly so. Can anyone suggest how I might...er..."tighten" up the head a bit?

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Not sure which what release it was from. It was a yellow/blue GID. Somebody should put together a photo gallery of which one's which. I feel like a moron asking what people mean when they say Derp, Frosty, Wheel, etc. (I'm up to speed on those, for the record ) D-LUX, great suggestion. I'll give it a shot.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
There used to be a list of all the releases but it hasnt been updated for the longest time. You'll get the hang of the names with time.

Looks like there are shooting blanks Grody Shogun toys back up on the Grody page at Lulu. Get 'em while they are hot.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
I tried to look through the wants threads and couldn't find someone looking for this exact figure, but a seller over on KR has the original WF Ojisan for sale as well as a Frosty Ojisan.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
So I picked up the clear Ojisan and Karakuri with a specific intent in mind, but I don't have the artistic ability to pull it off. Therefore, I thought I would share my idea in the hopes that someone here might like it and create templates for all to share. Essentially, I would like to create paper inserts for the figures, similar to the classic vintage and also modern vinyls showing their guts, or mechanical insides. http://www.robot-japan.com/item/your-en ... owing.htmlI was thinking of a more organic insert for Ojisan and a more mechanical insert for Karakuri, in line with the original background of these figures: lulublog wrote: Lulubell is proud to present the first original figure releases from Grody Shogun, クモの巣を食べる妖怪 グランプス (Granpusu the web eater). His name is Ojisan and he is a vain little Yokai (Japanese folk spirit). He’s also kinda lazy, so he made a Karakuri (edo era self-automated robots) in his own image. Actually, Ojisan spends more time setting up his Karakuri then if he went out a collected webs himself. Thoughts? Anyone up for creating and sharing these inserts?

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Not to piss on your parade, but the only draw back to putting guts or inserts in an Ojisan or Karakuri is all the texture. May distort, and make it hard to see, the insert. It's a fun idea though. I am interested to see how it works out.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Those turned out way better, that I was thinking they would. The price point is pretty good as well.
Also, I'll most likely have paper inserts, in the series of GS monsters, I'm painting.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
For those of you looking forward to the Ferg x Grody Young Gohst, here's some info: Vinyl Pulse wrote: The half-year subscription will include 13 figures ( 1 chase) with 2 shipped per month for five months followed by 3 in the final six month. While the color combinations are set (see chart after the jump), the brain sculpts are not and are random. The subscription goes on sale on April 30th @ Noon CDT and will be available for about a week. The price for the 13 figures including shipping is $285 (~ $22/fig) with an additional $70 for international orders. In addition to the subscription, there will be a 2-pack featuring the first two Young Gohsts for $58 shipped.

I wish they were a bit bigger. 5 inches would have been just right.

Re: Grody Shogun - New Stuff
Quite gimmicky and platformy. I'd have been all over these eight or so years ago. Not really sure how I feel about a toy subscription plan, either.
